Chapter 11After Jason makes the call to the attorney and I get Betsy out of the house with my utmost assurance that all will soon be made right, we gather around the frozen ravens once more. The ice has melted some from the heat from the jacket. “It hasn’t hurried the thawing too much, has it?” Jason asks me. “I hope not.” The birds were still well covered in ice, enough so that the molecules could calm and slow down again. I have to get my mind off of it. “Are you hungry?” I ask as I walk to the refrigerator. “Um, yeah,” Jason says as he gives me a weird look. “You’ve never asked me that before. Why now? It’s not like you need to eat.” “You’re right, which is probably why I always seems so inconsiderate of your human needs.” I raise my head as I pause with my hand on the refrigerator
