Chapter 16I gape at the sight of Jason standing there holding Thor’s hammer as if it were a toy. I want to stand up, put one arm around Jason, and extend the other out before us while saying, “And together we shall rule the galaxy as father and son.” But that’s not happening. I just hope no one in the room forgets that he’s mine. I had him first. He came to work for me!
Jason turns the hammer so he can grasp the handle. With a level gaze at Anubis, he says, “Time for you to leave.”
“This isn’t yet over,” Anubis warns.
“No, it’s not,” I gasp as I painfully return to human form and start to get up. The act of morphing snaps everything back into place and heals anything needing mended, but that’s not to say it doesn’t hurt.
