Chapter 4I bend over near the flowerbed that had once been beside my front door, nearly vomiting from the taste of the bitter snake venom flowing from my mouth as if it were a waterfall. All the plants at my feet are turning black.
“You okay,” Jason asks as he comes up behind me.
All I can do is stand there with my mouth open letting the acid just gush out. I want to respond with, “Do I look okay to you?” but I can’t even garble that out.
