“Indianna, please talk to me.” Indianna gritted her teeth as she stepped inside and shut the door behind her. The sound echoed through the house, louder than it should have been. She looked up. Her mother was standing in the doorway to the kitchen, watching her. She looked desperate. “Please.” Indianna let out a slow breath, forcing herself to stay calm. “Five minutes,” she said firmly. Iris nodded quickly, like she was scared Indianna would change her mind. Indianna followed her into the kitchen and took a seat at the table. Iris sat across from her, her hands fidgeting slightly in her lap. “Would you like tea, or coffee” “Answers,” Indianna cut in. “I want answers.” Iris hesitated. “To which questions?” Indianna leaned forward slightly, her eyes locking onto her mother’s.
