It was 4 in the morning and the sun has yet to rise.

Fil is walking towards the small market of the village to look for the aforementioned meat vendor

“Laurence is his name according to Lide right…?”

While giggling, Reg thought so, while watching the man that inflicts fear in him being handed by his secretary in the form of cute kitten.

Anyway, we should start looking for this Laurence the meat Vendor”

MINFI look up the sky and thinks.

Well, maybe it’s just too early that’s why… oh there’s a meat vendor over there

I then approach the man in front of me…

“Excuse me sir, but would you mind me asking if you happen to be ‘Laurence’?”

Is the question I asked, and the man stops assembling his meat for a moment to look at me from head to toe.

Well, I can’t blame him. To him I just look like a suspicious person that approach him this early in the morning.

While averting his eyes away from me, he answered with a “Yes, I am”.

Upon hearing it, I immediately said Lide’s name.

“Lide the guard referred you to me, he said that you are the most knowledgeable person here when it comes to the capital and things in there!”

He stops arranging his meats again…

Then he looks again my way,

And tells me this:

“You’re a new face here I see… are you a traveler?”

I answered calmly with a “Yes, something like that…”

Then he replied with~

“Well, you’ve come to the right place but my information is not for free, if you know what I mean”

I have a vague idea why he is flicking his right eye to me while saying that so I offered him a gift.

“Will this suffice for the exchange of the information?”

What I’ve showed him is a piece of asteroid; the rocks that you can only find in space, to this worlds people it is called an otherworldly metal…

Well… to me these are just plain old rocks that is found floating in space… they are remnants of destroyed worlds or something like that.

Anyway, Lide mention to me yesterday that this guy has a thing about these kinds of metals,

He also said that Rian and Ren must’ve gotten the information regarding the star that falls in the forest of doom from him which is actually MINFI and me…

“Goodness! Is this what I think it is? Jet black color, light as feather, and hard as an adamantine!”

I answered him with a smile.

Then after getting the asteroid from my hands, he responded~

“I see… this will suffice for the thing that you want…

So, speak what kind of information you want from me regarding the capital?”

I grin and spoke.

“Well, what I want is information regarding the capital”

Upon hearing my response, he stopped staring at the asteroid and look at me with suspicious eyes

And the words that came out of his mouth is exactly what I predicted.

MINFI and Reg talk to me through telepathy…

[Young master, it seems that he will disagree with what you want…

Want me to just read his mind?]

[I can show him my true form sir Fil, I’m sure he knows what’s good for him after that?]

I said that with confidence.

“Pardon me for asking misteer…?”

He asks while wearing a doubtful look on his face.

“Ah! How rude of me, I know your name but you don’t know mine”

I bowed and said my name.

“I am Fil, a wonderer just like you predicted”

“I see… this is just a speculation but you wouldn’t be a spy from another continent or something, are you?”

“HAHAHA! Not a chance! …if I were a spy, then you wouldn’t be the one I am asking these questions, right?”

Hmmm… his right, he could’ve just asked for the direction of the capital and just head there to gather more firm information himself and yet…

but I can’t still disregard the possibility that this young man is a spy…

I can’t let Fionna-sama to be in any danger… well I know that she is crazy strong but dirty tricks also exist so the possibility of her getting hurt is not zero.

It seems that he is thinking this carefully… but what about this then!

I pulled out again an asteroid that is double the size of the one I handed earlier from my ⸢STORAGE⸥.

Laurence eyes almost pop out!

MINFI’s joke are quite superb so I just laugh it off and focus on what Laurence will tell me.

My true aim with this conversation is the royal family and it’s a good thing he voluntarily mention them, I was thinking on how should I make him brought them up but it seems it is not needed.

But mentioning them now will once again raise his suspicion, so I decided a slight detour to dodge his suspicions.

“I see… then do you know something about them…? Perhaps you can enlighten me on why they are so famous or something like that”

I said those to bait him. He might be a diehard fan of one of those people and I can use that as a diversion when I ask about the royal family.

He responded easily with~

“Yes, of course I can! Let’s see… as far as I know… the Dollor family, the Vermundo family, the Del Rosa family, and… the GLACIER FAMILY!

Are the four major pillars of the capital at present, well to be specific the Dollor family handle the finances, the Vermundo family handle the knights because they are a family famous for producing very strong knights that protects the kingdom.

The Del Rosa family handle the merchant alliance… well they don’t have any more influence other that that and I heard that their current head, viscount Alco Pata has a rude personality and just the other day I heard some humors that he is aiming for Victoria-sama… tch! As if he has a chance! Those are just baseless rumors!”

He seems very pissed towards that viscount HAHA, well his name is very funny though, Alco Pata??? HAHAHAHA that sounds like the name of the pig dish I’ve tasted a year ago. Well, I should take this chance to ask about the Glacier family which is indeed I think the name of the royal family.

Hmmm? how did I know? Of course, they have the same name with this kingdom so even a child can guess that right HAHA!

Then without hesitation I asks him.

“HAHA! I see… then what about the last family you’ve mention, the way you spoke their name sounds like you really like them”

“I LOVE THEM!”

He loudly corrected.

“HAHAHA! I see, I see you love them HAHA! I see… so, I can guess they are the royal family, right?”

“Indeed! They are the hope and pride of all the citizen of Glacier, for there are not only good at running the kingdom, they are all also such nice people!”

His eyes are sparkling, he must’ve really love them HAHA!

That should do the trick to divert his suspicion.

And in just a few seconds he answered me happily.

The reigning Queen of Glacier now is the ever-beautiful Victoria Elizabeth M. Glacier IV-sama! Ahhhh!!!!”

That “Ahhhh!!!!” in the end somewhat disgust me given that this middle-aged man just uttered it just like a girl.

I don’t know why but this man’s actions do not match his appearance, sigh! You really can’t “Judge a book by its cover” huh?...

Well, anyway I continued to hear his story.

The way he shouted those words gave me the idea that this guy is a die-hard fan of that princess…

But I don’t care about that, I just want information regarding them to find clues of what I am looking for…

And why is that you ask?

It is because when you are in a foreign place, you need to seek its ruler to easily find what you are looking for…

Or so I would like to say but the truth is…! MINFI already track the location of the one emitting the foreign mana that is causing this early winter…

By the way it’s freezing right now grrrrr!!

“Huh? You want to know something like that? Sigh! Fine, since the metals you gave me will surely make me rich, I will tell you…

The royal family is known for their superior Ice magic!”

Hmmm… that is somewhat useful, I guess…?

“Is that so? Well, thanks for the information Per- I mean mister Laurence…”

I was about to call him a p*****t but since I got what I wanted I halted in doing so.

“The sun is rising so, I will head back in mister Lide’s place for now, once again thank you for pleading my request *bow*”

“Don’t mention it, you’ve just made me rich! Hahaha! I should be the one thanking you instead, I can finally get out of this village!”

Upon hearing that, I notice that this village has really a very few inhabitants and it looks like it is in a verge of collapsing.

 Is the noble in charge of this village does not pay attention to its need?

Well, it is not my place to think of that but if the key is in this world, I will make this village the location for my ⸢GATE⸥ after I establish a friendly connection with the royal family.

That is if! They will not annoy me and such, just like what happen last time…

Ah! I forgot to mention to that lad that he can meet the royal family if he participates in the upcoming tournament 6 days from now…

Oh well! He doesn’t seem to look like a strong individual to me so forget it haha!

I use ⸢RETURN⸥ to go back to Lide’s house.

It seems that Lide already left for guard duty given that I don’t feel his presence within the house

Oh well, I will just knock!

Oh right! about my abilities that I mention earlier; the ⸢STORAGE⸥. And ⸢RETURN⸥ …they are still a secret and I will reveal it in a later date.
