REG'S REVIVAL

Using ⸢RETURN⸥, Fil went back to the forest of doom right after his conversation with Fionna.

And the sight that welcome him is very unpleasant. All the trees have been burned to ashes, and all the corpse of low tier magic beasts paint the land. It was due to the behavior of the high tier beasts that suddenly surface outside the forest and massacred the weak ones.

And so, Fil walks deeper into the forest. The damage in the forest became worsen as he reaches the deepest part of it.

When he arrives on Reg’s nest. The bodies of all the fairies lying on the ground welcome him, and in the middle, he saw Reg’s body; covered in deep wounds and there is no trace of his previous glorious and fluffy appearance. All of it were replace by holes and blood.

Seeing that made Fil quite angry.

“Tch! This cruelty is making me unpleasant… how dare they did this to Reg!! they will pay for this a million-fold!!

But first, let us deal with this situation”

And so, Fil check on each of them, and he found out that all of them is still surprisingly alive but Reg is the one who is the closest to dying.

“If my guess is right, Reg uses the last of his strength to save the fairies… For a beast, you have the attitude of a human… HAHA! That’s amazing Reg!”

Acknowledging Reg’s great resolve and sacrifice, Fil pulled out a gorgeous bottle in his ⸢STORAGE⸥.

“This is a gift from the Volcanic Monarch as a symbol of our friendship and alliance, it is called hmm… what did he call it again… Ah! That’s right! It’s called “Phoenix Tears”

According to him, it can cure any types of disease and injuries as long as the patient is not dead!

Also, according to him, they took something like a hundred years?? to full a bottle of it.

Hmm… wonder where they get this stuff?? Well, enough of that and let’s just use it!”

And so, He poured a drop of it on Reg and the fairies. It only took a single drop to heal all the injuries of the fairies but when it comes to Reg, it took a total of ten drops. this means that Reg’s injuries are very severe and saying that his life is only a thread away from death is not an exaggeration.

It took a few minutes for the fairies to regain their consciousness. And when they woke up, they all saw Fil, Standing beside Reg.

They went on a panic as soon as they regain their memory, they said things such as:

“Oh no!!! lord Regulus is in grave danger!! We must do something to assist him!!”

“Lord Re-Regulus!! Forgive us!! For we have failed you…!!”

But as soon as they saw Reg’s body to be completely fine. A surge of calmness put their hearts at ease. With that, they surround Reg, tend on him and pray for his awakening.

One of the Fairies, approaches Fil.

“U…Um…! Lord Fil, I am called Dy, and I am the leader of forest guardians”

Fil looks at her and then smiled.

“HAHA! No need to hold back, you can talk to me however you want”

“Th-then… if you insist… I would like to thank you for helping us… especially lord Regulus!

H-honestly speaking, before I lost consciousness, He was being brutally beaten by those evil humans!! I thought that we were all going to die in their hands… but lord Regulus uses the lasts of his magic power to help us avoid death… *sob*”

“*Sob* we were all so weak to assists him… we stand no chance even at using our full power *sob*”

Dy suddenly shed her tears in front of Fil. This shows how she regrets being so useless when the lord she’s serving faces grave danger and can’t do anything about it.

But Fil told her that she did her best and it was just because Reg’s opponent is just too much for them.

-Why does all the girls cry when they failed to do something important???-

“But fear not, Reg is okay now, and to be honest, I thought that he can handle his enemies and I figured that it is not my job to interfere in his business, that’s why I let him go back here alone. But it turns out that I underestimated the enemy and I did not pay attention to his slowly fading presence.

So, I’m partly at fault… sorry *bow*”

Seeing Fil bowed in front of her, Dy went on a panic.

“Th-th-there’s no need to bow your head lord Fil!! The barrier you put up gave us enough time to prepare!! even though we didn’t expect them to be that powerful… what I’m saying is… yo-you help us and we’re very grateful for it, and not to mention, you spend a very high elixir just to save us… we can never hate you let alone demand you to apologize!!”

“I see… then let us all wait for Reg to wake up”

But Dy has some other concerns.

“L-lord Fil…”

“Yes?? What is it Dy??”

“Um… the truth is, before those guys left, they gathered all the high tier beasts in the forest and the direction they took is the direction of the capital”

But Fil already knows of this, so he responded with ease.

“I know, Fionna and the others can fend them off easily and besides, MINFI is there to notify me if anything bad happens… and up until now, she’s not reporting anything so I assume that they can hold their stance.”

“I see… but the three strongest SS-tier magic beasts in this forest which power’s is just a little lower from lord Regulus himself accompanied them… so I figured that they will be in a pinched situation there.”

Hearing that made Fil a little bit worried about Fionna which the first for him.

“Don’t worry, just like what I’ve said before, MINFI will immediately contact me if that happen so rest assured and wait patiently until Reg regains consciousness”

With that, Dy washes away her worries and focus on tending Regulus. They brush his fur and mane gently, and also apply some healing magic in his head, hoping to hasten his awakening.

-The “Phoenix Tears” can only heal physical wounds but it can’t restore the blood loss, so I estimate that he will regain consciousness in a couple more minutes-

“But going back to the situation, who are those guys that attack Reg and burn this forest”

Dy has no idea on who are they also, so she only answers Fil with,

“I am sorry lord Fil; my sisters and I also have no idea who they are… they just attack the forest without even a notice and demands for sir Regulus to come out and face them…

We were quite enraged by their behavior so we tried to fight them, but they were too powerful and we were instantly beaten. They didn’t manage to finish us off because lord Regulus came back and deal with them.

But as powerful as he is, he was still no match for them. That is the first time I saw lord Regulus loss!! He is considered to be the strongest calamity beasts. Dy really is angry towards her incompetence, but she also knows that in that situation, she really can’t do anything for Regulus.

And so, thirty minutes have pass since Fil arrive at the forest and Regulus finally regain his consciousness.

“Yo! It’s about time you woke up huh?? HAHAHA!”

[S-sir Fil?? Is that you arrrrggghh…!]

“Indeed, who else could it be? HAHA!”

[I can see that you have save me again… sigh! How can I ever repay you…?]

“Pay no mind to it, I’m partly at fault in all of this, so saving you was just taking responsibility on it HAHA!”

[I see… However, this is severely brutal…! They burned down almost all of the forest of doom...

!!! Damn those demons!! How could they do this to my home!!! Rawwrrrr!!!]

“Oh, don’t worry about it, I’m just waiting for you to wake up and I’m planning to fix all of this”

[R-really?? I am forever grateful sir Fil *bow*]

The fairies also bowed their heads on Fil while saying “We are also forever grateful lord Fil”.

And so, in just a snap of his Finger. Fil uses ⸢RETURN⸥ to bring the whole forest back to normal.

Not a single trace of burning can be seen on it. It’s like the fire didn’t even happen.

[You really are beyond comprehension sir Fil; I can’t believe that the lifeless scenery I am looking at earlier has vanish completely]

“HAHA! Is that so?? …well, I can only bring the trees and the land to normal but not its inhabitants…”

[N-no, don’t feel bad about it, sir Fil, this is more than enough for us!]

“I see…I will change the topic for now…

Reg, do you know the ones who is responsible for all of this??”

With a serious look on his face, Reg responded.

[To be honest, I also have no idea who they are, but I heard them saying that they are called the four kings and they have come to get back their powers within me…

But I don’t understand what that means… after defeating me, one of them seems to absorbed my magic; he claims that it is his to begin with and laughs at me before I completely fainted]

“I see… so the reason why your presence became weaker and weaker these past few days is because you are being dried up by them huh??”

[Yes, that would be the case… but thanks to Luminous-sama’s blessing, I was able to keep my life and hold until you healed me]

“So, that’s the reason why your magic is completely different from before! What is within you right now is the mixture of your magic power and the divine power of the goddess Luminous”

Regulus felt a sense of happiness towards Fil’s claim. It is because he feels that the goddess Luminous didn’t abandon him and granted him another life to serve under her. He then looks at the sky and pray.

-[Luminous-sama, I swear that I will not let  you down this time]-

Regulus’s magic power has been greatly increased with the help of the divine power mix with it. But, even though his been greatly enhance, he still didn’t have chance against the four kings. This made Fil to conclude that the four kings are far stronger than he thought.

“If they are really that powerful, then Fionna might be in a really dangerous situation right now…”

-It seems that it would be best if I go back now; Fionna and the key might be in danger…-

Then, a few moments later, MINFI finally contacted Fil.

-MINFI? What’s the situation there??-

-[Not good young master! the queen has been gravely injured and sire Gilbert and the princess is in the verge of losing to the four kings. They can hardly defend now and can’t fight back!]-

-A-alright! Reg is already healed now, so I will go back there now-

With that, Fil stands up and is about to snap his fingers again, but Reg stops him in doing so.

[Wa-wait a minute sir Fil… Those four are really powerful and I believe that even you can’t handle all of them]

“*Grin* Reg, Reg, Reg, it seems that you are underestimating me now huh??”

[N-no! I am not! …what I am implying is that, it would not hurt if I come along and help you deal with them. And besides, I still have a score to settle with them…!!!]

“I see…. You got a point there… very well then, you can come along Reg!”

[I am in your debt sir Fil *bow*]

Fil asks Regulus to revert on his cat size and jumps on his shoulder. And so, with a snap of his Fingers, they vanished.

Before MINFI contacted Fil, the situation in the capital is not as worse as thirty minutes later.

Back when Fionna asks their Identity, the red king responded in an arrogant manner.

“I guess that an ant would like to know the names of the ones that will trample her!

…Fine then, I shall tell you ant princess!

We are the four kings and we have been sealed by that detestable goddess luminous a thousand years ago!! But now! The seal has been broken and we have come from the depths of hell to have our revenge on her and her creations!!”

Fionna can’t understand what he meant, so he asks sire Gilbert if he knows something about it.

“Uncle, do you know them?? I am not into history, so I have no knowledge of the enemy of Luminous-sama”

“I once read a book in the elven library back in my second visit to the Elven sovereignty. It was written there that a thousand years ago, the goddess Luminous once defeated four evil beings and sealed them and their powers separately”

“What??!! Then, they are…?”

The queen then joins the conversation. She is also a great believer of the goddess Luminous and her body has been possessed once by her.

“Luminous-sama sealed their souls underground after pulverizing their bodies and sealed their powers on her four familiars which is now known as the four calamity beasts”

“What?? Is that true, mother?? I am getting more confuse… so what you mean is that… the calamity beasts are goddess familiars which has the power of those four within them??”

“Y-yes, you got that right…”

“If that is the case, then why the hell are we calling the four calamity beasts as the incarnation of evil???”

“Well, they were also task to judge those who goes against Luminous-sama, so throughout the years, they purge those individuals and the way people saw them turns upside down”

“If you know that, then why did you commanded us to slay the white lion??”

The queen inhales deeply before answering Fionna.

“To me, the lives of my people are more important and I have the duty to protect them. If the white lion really will attack us, I will never allow anyone to die!! That is my duty as the queen!!”

When the knights and the citizens heard that, they all shout and cover the whole arena with a loud and firm war cry.

With that, all the mages and other warriors attack the four kings. But their combine is still not enough to damage the four kings.

The princess then launches an attack on them.

“Even if you are the beings that once fought the goddess, I, Fionna Liz Glacier will do everything to defeat you!!!

⸢Royal Stance: Ice Dragon Thrust⸥!!”

The black king then made his move and blocks Fionna’s attack with his spell ⸢Black Burial⸥.

Since it absorbs mana, it can also be used to defend from magic attacks. But he underestimated the princess…the ⸢Ice Dragon Thrust⸥ manage to pierce through the ⸢Black Burial⸥, but it was gravely weakened and only dealt a scratch on the black king’s face (Vesta’s face).

This made him very pissed.

“Yo-you lowly mortal!!! How dare you scratch me!!!!”

The black king burst his magic power and spread it all over the place, and all of it has been slowly compress and form a figure of small foxes.

“Die now… ⸢Black Fox⸥”

The barrage of black foxes then targeted the princess. But then, the queen pushes her and receive the attack instead. The action of the queen is actually not needed because the princess can dodge and blocks the attack. But her motherly instinct made her move and save her daughter.

The queen then suffers the effects of the attack. She was hit in the gut, and the ⸢Black Fox⸥ can slowly eat a person’s life force unlike the ⸢Black Burial⸥ that eats away mana.

“M-mother!!!!”

Fionna then looks back at the black king and point her sword at him while tears slide down her cheeks.

“Y-you!!! I will never forgive you!!! I will not rest until I cut off your head!!”

The princess magic power skyrocketed. This made the four kings very intrigued.

“Oho… so this is the princess that Vesta mention… *smirk* this will be fun”

The red king said.

“Hey black b***h! Don’t kill her!! She is quite stunning! so I will make her my slave”

The white king added.

But the black king refuses.

“Khe!! Who are you to order me?? I will deal with her myself and kill her in front of you khakhakhakaha!!!!”

While they are busy arguing, the princess launches her ⸢Ice Dragon Thrust⸥ again. But unlike the previous one, it has been greatly enhanced! enough to fully pierce through the ⸢Black Burial⸥ and hit the black king.

“Wh-what???! This is a lot powerful than before…. Arrrgggghhh!!!”

He then falls the to the ground and it took a minute for him to get up.

The princess uses that time to check on the queen.

“Mother!! Mother are you alright??!! *sob* what you did was completely foolish!! *sob* you know I can easily block those attacks!!”

Sire Gilbert and the other healers are transferring their mana to the queen to lessen the curse’s effect. The queen then responded to Fionna.

“Fi…Fionna my dear, I’m sorry… my body just move on its own…”

“Th-there’s no need to apologize mother…! I promise you that everything will be okay!! I will avenge you!!”

Fionna stands up and slowly approaches the black king with the intent to finish him off.

But then, he suddenly rises up as if nothing happened. He cracks his neck and shoulder and spoke.

“Kha! To think that a lowly mortal manages to hurt me, the black king! It seems that I still need to get use to this body…

I will have to get serious now *evil smile*”

After stabilizing the queen’s condition, sire gilbert join the princess.

“Let me assists you princess, let us erase this evil monster together”

Fionna smiles at sire Gilbert.

“Thank you, uncle…”

Upon getting close, they both recognizes the body that the black king is using.

“We-wait…! Is that you…Vesta???!!!”

Sire gilbert asks with a very surprise look on his face.

“Huh???!! Vesta??? Ah, that failure… right khakha! I forgot that I am using his body now…

Well, at least his body is useful khakhakhakha!!!”

Then the princess smiles.

“This is good!! To be able to cut down the same person who harms my brother and my mother. Even if you really are not Vesta on the inside. Cutting you will be like hitting two birds with one stone!!

Uncle, let’s go!!”

“As you wish princess!!!”

They all started to move in a very fast rate, just like the way Fil and Fionna move on their duel.

Only the leftover of their blows can be seen.

While the princess is keeping the black king busy, sire Gilbert unleashes one of his special attacks.

“⸢Royal Stance: Saber wolves Bite⸥!!”

The attack broke through the black king’s defense and wounded his arms.

“Kha!! Not bad for an old ant!!

I guess, I should also show you two what I am capable of when I get serious… Khakhakhakha! I’m sure you will feel the greatest despair ever!!”

The black king’s magic power greatly increases again as he prepared his attack.

“Now!! Say goodbye to this world!!! ⸢Dark Plague⸥!!!”

A spell that has the abilities to gulp one’s life force and magic power, leaving the opponents body in a state of a living corpse with only skin and bones will remains. ⸢Dark Plague⸥ is a lot stronger and larger than the previous attacks of the black king. It just swallows up the range attacks of the princess and sire Gilbert.

Having no choice, the princess charge in it and tried to s***h is it half using silver moon but it didn’t work and silver moon suffers some damage.

“Khakhakhakha! It’s no use!!! Once ⸢Dark Plague⸥ has been casted, it will never stop until everyone in its path has been reduce into nothingness!!! Khakhakha!!!”

Seeing the situation, the red king smiles.

“It seems that we will not be able to exert after all… sigh! Let’s just paint this land in our colors and wait for Luminous’ response”

The blue king agrees with the red king but the white king is feeling a little bit of disappointment.

“Too bad, I really like the beautiful princess sigh! But once the ⸢Dark Plague⸥ engulfs her, she will look like a dried and lumpy vegetable… sigh! It can’t be help, I will just wait for Luminous to show up and cheer me up! Hehe…”

MINFI at that time is busy tending on Jake, because his condition is worsening. She can’t contact Fil at the moment.

When the ⸢Dark Plague⸥ is close to engulf both the princess and sire Gilbert.

A ray of light pierces the ground from the sky. The light erases the dark clouds as well as the ⸢Dark Plague⸥ of the black king.

When Fionna turns around, she saw her mother glowing and started to float.

Witnessing this phenomenon, the three kings come down and join the black king in the ground.

The red king shouted while raising both of his hands.

“It’s about time you show up!! Luminous!!!”
