The family was halfway through breakfast when a visitor came bearing news to Jogr. “Village Chief, there’s a delegation from Nagwa and they want to speak with you,” the visitor, a skinny guy in his early 20’s said. “Thank you, Gupm,” Jogr said. He invited the young man to have breakfast with them in a gesture of politeness as well as in keeping with the village’s customs.
