Chapter IX

JENNIE'S POV

"We never talked about what Rosé told us about Lisa, Jen" Jisoo said while we are having our breakfast.

Chaeyoung's revelation about Lisa being cheated on the same s**t that happened to me made me feel guilty for what I am doing right now to her.

"Unnie, we are not yet sure about that. Do you remember Momo? She told us that Lisa cheated on her while they were dating. I don't think Momo will lie." I said not sure right now. I am actually confused about what is real and what is not. That Saturday we spent at Lisa's house gave me a severe headache because I can't stop thinking if I am still doing the right thing.

"We are not also sure about Momo's story. Jen, we are messing with Lisa's life. I can feel she's really a good person." Jisoo said trying to convince me.

"You are just saying that because you really believe Chaeyoung! Can we just drop the topic unnie? I am not really into this right now."

"Fine, let's just prepare for school. I don't want to argue right now, it is too early." Jisoo replied and went to the bathroom immediately.

Why is she like that, she never acted like this before. Does she really like Chaeyoung to be like this? Aish!

"Hello, Jisoo! Hi Jennie!" Lisa greeted us as soon as we walked into the class.

Lisa seems to have a good morning. This is the first time she greeted us. I expected this more from Rosé but look at her smile it is so wide.

It made me smile too.

"Good morning Lisa" I replied and showed my gummy smile at her.

"Good morning Lisaaaa" Jisoo hugged her and immediately hugs Chaeyoung.

"Morning to you also, Chae" Jisoo added. Is she blushing? Jisoo is so whipped.

"Morning Unnie" Chae replied.

Jisoo sat at Lisa's place while Chae remained in her chair. When Lisa saw that her chair is already taken by Jisoo she paused for a second "Is it okay if I sit here? Jisoo unnie looks like discussing something to that chipmunk and pointed at rosé.

"Yeah sure, maybe they missed each other a lot" I giggled. I saw her eyes smiled. Her smile is so bright.

While the two girls are having fun, Lisa and I don't know how to start a conversation. I don't even know if I should talk to her since Jisoo asked me to be at least to be nice to her and I am just nice if my mouth is shut. What Chae told us that Saturday still playing on my head.

"I enjoyed Saturday with you ... "she paused "... and Jisoo." She continued. Lisa was not looking into my eyes but I looked at her, her face reddened a bit. She really has a beautiful face; I can't deny it especially I am so close to her. Her white complexion complemented her pink lips that look so kissable. I suddenly remembered how those lips touched my neck that night. I closed my eyes reminiscing that moment.

When I opened my eyes I saw her looking at me confusedly. "Are you okay? Are you sleepy, Jennie?" she asked and looks at me worriedly.

"A-ani.." I said and shake my head.

I really have a good view of her face right now, now I understand why those girls and guys are drooling at her. She's too beautiful to be true. Oh. Did I just compliment her? I shouldn't but I can't stop being amused by her beauty.

"Earth to Jennie. Did you hear what Mr. Yang said?" her voice pulled me out from my thoughts. Jisoo, Chae, and Lisa are looking at me right now. "Wh-what?" I asked.

Because I was lost in my thoughts I did not know that the class already started minutes ago.

"We are partners for the project, while Jisoo and Rosé are going to be partners now. It is like a change of partners Hahaha" she said while scratching the back of her head.

"Wh-what?" I asked in disbelief.

"Look!" Jisoo pointed out something on the top of my head.

"What?" I asked.

"Your mind is floating." She then rolled her eyes. Chae laughs at her humor. Aish. "Ppoong!" she added.

"Sorry, Jennie but don't you want to be a partner with me? I can talk to Mr. Yang" she said in a low tone, almost sad.

"N-no." I stuttered. "It's just; this is the first time that I am not having Jisoo unnie as a partner. Maybe it is going to be exciting at least no one will always ask me for a chicken every damn night while doing the project." I said giving Jisoo a glare.

Jisoo just shrugged and Chae hugs her. Are they a thing now?

"So do you guys want to do the project tonight? You guys are invited to Jennie and I's apartment" Jisoo said to the two girls.

What the hell Jisoo, really? But not bad at all. It is better if we all stay together.

"Is it really okay?" Rosé asked looking at me. I just nod as a response and look at Lisa who is preventing my eyes.

"Lisa, you can come too. I mean, we are partners in this project right? It is better if we are all together for more ideas right?" I said trying to convince her. Why am I trying to convince her? I can do the project alone aish. Maybe I just want to prove that Jisoo unnie is wrong.

"Come on pranpriya, I know you only sleep at my house but Jisoo and Jennie are our friends now," Chae said while nudging Lisa.

So Lisa doesn't really sleep at other's house? I don't believe that.

"Are you not used to be in someone's bed in the morning?" I said almost judging her.

"Jen, stop." I heard Jisoo.

"No, it is fine. I know you look at me as if I sleep into millions of girls out there. But Jennie, I never sleep in anyone's bed except to the bed of this chipmunk. I never stay with them 'til morning" Lisa said and smiled. She snapped instantly.

I gulped because I know I hurt her feelings this time.

"I'll go now, just text me unnie what time we should be at your apartment." She looked at Jisoo and Jisoo nods. She then walked away from us leaving us all three speechless.

"Really, Jennie?" Jisoo looked at me.

"I-I was just asking her I did not kn-" but before I finish my sentence Jisoo cut me off.

"I asked you to be nice to her." Jisoo is being serious this time.

"Lisa will be fine. I'll just follow her." Chae excused herself. "Say sorry for me and for this girl to her Chae." Chaeyoung made her way to Lisa.

"Let's go home now," Jisoo said plainly. I know she's mad this time. Jisoo does not often get mad. But maybe this time I get into her nerve.

We are already in her car; Jisoo is the one who is driving.

"You shouldn't have said that, Jennie." The silence broke when Jisoo started to talk. She looks really annoyed. She doesn't bother to look at me.

"I really did not mean to offend her unnie." I looked down for her to believe me.

She then looked at me. "Jen, Lisa is just like you. You are both damaged because of your pasts." She sighs and continues. "If you can't be nice to her just don't hurt her feelings." I bit my lip and fidget my phone.

Then suddenly my phone rang.

"Selena, this is Ms. Lee. Is it possible for you to perform tonight at 6:00 PM? It is just really important to me. I have special visitors and they want to see your performance. Just say yes please?" Ms. Lee said over the phone.

"But I have plans for tonight, Ms. Lee." I said and Jisoo looked at me.

"What is she saying?" Jisoo asked if what her auntie is saying.

"After your performance, you can go straight home it will be just 5 minutes I promise." Ms. Lee pleaded.

"Okay then. I'll be there in an hour." I said and Ms. Lee said thank you. I hung up the phone after.

Jisoo is looking at me waiting for me to tell her what I talked to her aunt. "She asked me to perform tonight for her special guests. She said it is important for her." I said looking at my phone.

"What did you say?" she said.

"I'll do it. It will be at 6:00 PM, I'll go straight home after that. I'll make up with you unnie." I said and held her hand.

"Just be home before 7. Lisa and Chae will be there at 7:30 don't get caught." She said "and also, you know how to make up to me right?" she then smirked.

"Aye aye captain!" I said. She always wants chicken hahaha

Jisoo dropped me off to the bar and I started to fix myself up.

LISA'S POV

"Lisa, you can come too. I mean, we are partners in the project right? It is better if we are all together for more ideas right?" Jennie said trying to convince me. I was slightly getting nervous and excited at the same time.

"Come on pranpriya, I know you only sleep at my house but Jisoo and Jennie are our friends now," Chae said while nudging me.

I really don't like the idea of sleeping at others house that's why I always choose Chae as a partner to almost everything or else I'll do the project alone.

"Are you not used to be in someone's bed in the morning?" Jennie blurted out her eyes looks at me as if they are judging me.

"Jen, stop," Jisoo said.

I thought Chaeyoung is right that Jennie could also be a friend like her that will not judge me because of what others look at me.

That Saturday I was starting to believe Chae was right but now? I think I am reading the lines wrong.

I saw her gulped maybe she realized that she became out of line this time.

"I'll go now, just text me unnie what time we should be at your apartment."I looked at Jisoo and Jisoo nods. And then I walked away from them. I never bother to look at Jennie.

I am already inside my car. Tears escaped from my eyes.

Maybe everyone looks at me that way. Her eyes have been judging me this whole time. I thought we could be friends Like Jisoo and Chae. But maybe I was wrong all along. That Saturday.. I thought it was the start. Hahaha.

I laughed at myself. When I look at the rear mirror I saw Chaeyoung coming. I immediately wipe my tears away and lowered my window.

"Lisa, are you alright?" she said worriedly.

"I am fine Unnie. Don't worry too much about me okay?" I gave her my sweetest smile.

"I'll just pick you up later okay? Jisoo already texted me that we should be there at 7:30." I said while starting my engine.

"Okay, have a safe drive? I love you Pranpriya." Rosé kissed my forehead and wave at me.

I was driving when I decided to go to the bar. I don't want to get drunk tonight I just need some beer.

"Do you want your usual?" Tae said.

"No, just beer please," I said and then he gave me a glass of beer.

It is already 5:50 PM. I looked at the stage that Selena used to perform.

"Why the chairs are arranged like that? Is Selena going to perform tonight?" I asked Taehyung.

"Yes but those chairs are not for everyone. It is all reserved for the special guests tonight." He then replied.

The chairs started to fill. I saw the manager sat in the front. The lights went black the music started to play.

I am patiently waiting for Selena to come out. It was too early. She used to perform at 8:00 PM, maybe the guests are really special.

I heard those men and women that are comfortably sitting clap their hands once Selena showed on stage.

This time Selena is wearing a red mask matched her red lipstick and her hair is still on curls. Her heels are pointed. As usual, she is wearing something to cover her body but this time she's just wearing a see-through robe. I can see her lingerie because of that.

She dances perfectly. But I suddenly feel envy tonight because she is not dancing for me tho I thought she is really dancing for me every time.

Someone tapped my shoulder and whisper into my ear. "Hi," the girl from behind said. It was Nancy.

"Nancy, hi," I replied to her and look back at Selena who is now showing off her lingerie like she's a victoria secret's model.

"You like her?" I heard Nancy talked.

I just nod at her.

Nancy smells alcohol. Is she already drunk? I did not mind her at all but she stinks right now.

I watched Selena as she made her move to the pole.

"Baby, don't you want to have some fun with me tonight?" Nancy asked me seductively.

"Nancy I can't I need to be somewhere tonight," I replied

Then Nancy kissed me. I pushed her away. "What the hell" I heard her while trying to get up. " I did not mean to push you. I'm sorry." Then I helped her up.

I heard a girl screamed and I looked at the stage where the screaming came from. I saw Selena was dragged off by a man and everyone was shocked. It was one of the men who is wearing a suit.

I ran to her and punch the man's face immediately. Everyone was still in shock. He punched me in the face that made my mouth bloody. Damn this man.

I pushed him and kicked his balls and he writhes in pain. I held Selena's hand and we run.

"Damn those bouncers! Why did they let him touch you!?" I said angrily. I saw her crying even her mask is covering half of her face.

We are now in the parking lot. I opened my car and I told her to get in. She refused but I insisted.

"I will not hurt you. I'll drop you off at your house don't worry I am not a bad person, Selena. I am not going to do anything bad to you." I said and then she finally gets into my car.

Selena is still sobbing. "You are not talking, are you okay?" she just nods.

"Where do you want me to drop you off?" I asked her.

She was crying from now and then that's why when she talked it was almost cracked.

"Just drop me here." She said. She wants me to drop me here in this place with that kind of state?

"Not here. Look at what you are wearing. You might bump into some imbecile down there." I said and she just looks at me.

"Don't look at me like that," I said not wanting to see her eyes like that.

I stop the car and went to the back to get my unused clothes. "Here. Wear this. If you really don't want me to drop you at your house at least wear some decent clothes."

She looked at the clothes that I am handing her. "I did not use these yet don't worry you can have it," I said and then she started to wear my clothes.

I started driving. It is already 6:50 in the evening I still need to be somewhere. My mouth has dry blood.

I drop Selena off to the convenience store and she said thank you. I am still worried about her but I need to go to Chae's house now. I drove away but still looking at her from my rear mirror until she fades.
