As Liam's departure date approached, Anya found herself torn between her feelings for him and her doubts about their future. She spent hours talking to Sarah and Miguel, seeking their advice and support.
Sarah, ever the pragmatist, advised her to be cautious. "Long-distance relationships are hard enough as it is, Anya," she said. "You don't need the added drama of an ex-girlfriend lurking in the background. Maybe it's best to cut your losses and move on."
Miguel, ever the romantic, encouraged her to follow her heart. "Love is worth fighting for, Anya," he said. "If you truly believe that Liam is the one for you, then you should give him a second chance. Everyone makes mistakes. The important thing is that he's honest with you now."
Anya appreciated their advice, but ultimately, she knew that the decision was hers alone. She had to weigh her feelings for Liam against her own needs and values. She had to decide if she was willing to forgive him for his past mistakes and to trust him with her heart again.
On Liam's last night in Palawan, Anya joined him on the beach for a final conversation. They sat in silence for a long time, listening to the sound of the waves, watching the stars twinkle in the sky.
Finally, Anya spoke. "I've been thinking a lot about what you told me, Liam," she said, her voice soft but firm. "I'm hurt that you didn't tell me about Saoirse sooner, that you kept such a significant part of your past from me. It made me question everything that we've shared."
Liam nodded, his face filled with remorse. "I know, Anya," he said. "I was wrong to keep it from you. I was afraid of losing you, and I made a mistake. I'm truly sorry."
Anya took a deep breath. "I believe that you're sorry, Liam," she said. "And I believe that you care about me. But I need to know that you're completely over Saoirse, that she's not going to be a constant presence in our lives."
