Planning a Dance Recital
Ms. Montaigne declares Christy is ready to be shown.
“It will boost her confidence... to be exhibited. No?” the dour instructress boldly declares in her accented English. “There is a suitable segment of Swan Lake that your girl has mastered in training, but only before an audience can she be proclaimed a dancer.”
The thought intrigues. The antics at the beauty parlor suggest Christy is oddly comfortable showing herself to women of authority. She blushes yes, but deep within the masochism brings curious delight. So I decide that is a suitable starting point and with the next Saturday visit to the parlor I begin collecting names and email addresses to extend invitations.
