Chapter Thirty Eight
Lunch
Though to be served in the dining room with Miss Evers and Muffin, I must remain in the kitchen to assure not only rule one is not again broken but there is compliance with rule two as well. So Miss Evers and I sit at the kitchen table sharing lemonade and I have Muffin kneel and lick her boots. Christy makes sandwiches.
“The girls get along well... quite affectionate with each other,” Miss Evers notes.
