Thirteen Max rested his hand on The Ruby Room’s exit door, ready to leave a good hour after closing time. But a burning unease kept him from moving, a hard knot of emotion settling deep within his tummy, that emotion being one he so very rarely experienced. Anger. Anger at his situation.
