Using the house telephone in her cottage on the Wynstable grounds, Mrs. Millay called the inn and was connected with room service. She ordered dinner to be sent over and served as usual in the cottage patio: Maryland cream-of-crab soup, roast duckling, hashed-brown potatoes, a mixed salad, pecan pie, and coffee. The service would be for one. Mr. Forrest, she said, was dining out.
