Jn and Luana burst out laughing.
Nicole immediately pinched my side, making me flinch.
"First you tame the beast," her mother replied with a laugh as she picked up Jn's order and headed for the kitchen, "then you can call me Mother-in-law."
"You're really getting on my nerves, Urso," Nicole muttered through clenched teeth without even looking at me, keeping her attention on the steak she was cutting.
"I'm just making it clear that you're mine."
I answered in the same lazy, low voice, flashing her a smug grin.
She turned sharply toward me, letting her fork clatter onto the plate.
"I don't belong to anyone."
"Especially not to you."
She spoke quietly, but with a conviction that only made me want her even more.
