Holy s**t.
I wasn't expecting to hear that.
Of everything I'd imagined he might say, nothing came close to that.
I was completely speechless. I had to swallow hard, take a deep breath, and come up with an answer while holding his gaze.
Luckily, our appetizer arrived at that exact moment, and the waitress interrupted us.
Once again, she was practically undressing him with her eyes. I had no idea whether they'd ever been together or if she even knew him personally, but she looked ready to drop to her knees for him.
The worst part?
He didn't even notice.
His eyes never left mine.
"You seem so confident... it's almost like you're convinced you're going to win me over."
