Urso I chuckled under my breath, devoid of humor. Everything felt so rehearsed. So predictable. So lifeless. I gazed at her with the same calmness I have when looking at a piece of paper that no longer serves me. I'm sure, babe. It's not happening today. I won't be able to give you what you want. But show up at the party this weekend... maybe we can work something out. I'll give you a shot. She let out a huff, ran her hand on my neck, trying to pull me towards her, but I had already redirected my gaze to the computer, to the week's numbers. She got the hint. She left swaying more than when she came in, as if she wanted to leave the image in my mind. But I didn't even see it anymore. There was only room for one woman there. And it wasn't her.
