Pain. Dull and sharp at once. Prince Thas groaned as he stirred from unconsciousness, his body aching like he had been trampled by a herd of wild alphas. He tried to move, to rub his sore throat—which burned as if he had swallowed fire—but something yanked him back. His wrists. Tied. He blinked rapidly, his vision blurry, but the dim light from a flickering torch above cast enough glow for him to take in his surroundings. Stone walls. Iron bars. A dirt floor.
