A Good Boy

An old woman wanted to cross a road. She was weak. Therefore she wanted help. She waited long. She waited alone. She saw a large number of school boys. They were laughing and talking. They were going home. So they were happy. They looked at the old woman. They did not help her. They walked on. But one boy went to the old woman. He said to her, “Mother! Do you want to cross the road? I will help you. I will take you to the other side." The boy helped the old woman. He led her across the road. He did a good deed. He was happy. He said, “I helped somebody’s mother. So, somebody will help my mother in her old age." “Dear God! Be kind to this good boy," said the old woman in her prayer.                                                                    # Be Helpful# A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door. The man got up and opened the door to a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, asking for a push. 'Not a chance," said the husband, "It is 3:00 in the morning!" He slammed the door and returned to bed. “Who was that?" asked his wife. "Just some drunk guy asking for a push," answered the husband. “Did you help him?" asked the wife. "No I didn't! It's 3 in the morning and it's blooming well…pouring with rain out there!" said the husband. “Well, you have a short memory" said the wife. And further continued, "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him! God loves people too, you know," said the wife. The man sighed, got dressed and walked out into the pounding rain. He called out in the rain, “Hello! Are you still there?" “Yes!" the voice came there. “Do you still need a push?" the husband asked. “Yes, Please," the voice said. “Where are you? I can not see in the dark," the husband said. “Over here…in the swing," the voice said.
