I don't want to get up, just want stay in bed and sleep, because reality is a burden. Last night was a nightmare, my heart is broken. It's almost a week since Blake asked me for divorce. The words "I want something different" is stuck in my head, I,d never imagined those words could hurt so much.
I'm lost in my thoughts when the phone rings. I answer it but don't say a word, maybe is Blake, maybe he was confused and all is clear now surely it was a misunderstanding. I want to hear his voice.
- Good morning. Can I talk to Mrs. Martin?
It's not him, who could it be? Now I have a bad feeling I know it...
- Good morning. I'm Mrs. Martin. How can I help you? - I answer quietly.
- Mrs Martin, my name is Clint Johnson from J & J lawyers. I'm representing Mr. Martin. I'd like to schedule a meeting with you.
My world fades but a voice brings me back..
- Martin.. Miss Martin what about tomorrow at 4 pm?
- Ok
- My client wants to finish in the best terms. - That's sound routinely but he's a lawyer after all. This is his job but for me this is unreal and unfair.
- Yeah I'm understand. I need to take my lawyer? - Maybe I just make a stupid question but one does not divorce everyday.
- If you consider it necessary, but my client wants the best for both.
After so many days feeling miserable now I'm feeling anger. The best for both? Really?
- Ok thank you. - I hang up.
It's time to find a lawyer... I never imagine being in this situation.
I take my mobile and search in my contacts. I found it and dial the number...
- Hi Rachel? How have you been?
- Hi Liv. I'm fine and you?
- Fine thanks but I need and advice... - Maybe was the tone of my voice but it wasn't necessary say more
- I'm going to a meeting but we can lunch together. I'll see you at Andy's for lunch. See you Liv.
It's two hours left for lunch, I need to hurry.
I take a shower and put some make up to cover my swollen eyes. Nobody knows about Blake. Not even my family, Rachel it's going to be the first person.
It's going to be hard, telling someone about this will make me remind everything I've been through. But I'm sure I'll find relief in my friend.
