Speaking of heaven, Sun piercing rays seeped through the curtains of the worldview balcony and disturbed her eyes. She squinted them and groaned softly, feeling sore under there she realized another warm skin against hers. She needed water or something to soothe her aching head that seemed to be more evident as she carefully rose up from the bed. Combing her hands through her hair, her gaze then fell on him as she stood beside the bed without alerting anyone. Trying to jog through her memory lane who the f**k was that. Then all events from last night replayed in her head like a soundtrack. Gwen knew better than to stay any longer. She reached for her dress that was at the corner of the room and went off in search of her bag. The glass door was open and she fled. Rummaging through the bag for her phone. She cussed out when she realized the phone had died. She'd just have to get home herself then. In the elevator and down the hallways, guess she was gonna be playing dominoes with her Dad after all, Fuck Max. Washing her face in the ladies room and buying a new dress from the boutique on the last floor. It was enough disguise to hide the fact that she caught her boyfriend cheating, Which was slow-witted of her since the charade had been going on for six months then after that got herself a sexy guy to warm the hotel's bed for relief. Which helped. A bit Okay a lot, it helped a lot, well except for the sore pain she still felt down there. Her luggages and things were rolled out in front of the hotel. Now she had to flag down a nice cab, which wasn't hard too since one pulled up In front of her immediately and without anybody noticing she got it and her things were kept in the trunk of the cabi. “Downtown please," She readjusted on the seat “And oh mister? Can I use your charger? my phone is as dead as it looks" "Is that why you're so in a hurry?” That voice, Her heart skipped four beats when she turned to the alleged cab driver and saw the guy she left on the bed minutes ago gazing at her with a straight face. Yes, the sexy guy. The coffee shop he stopped by was three minutes walk from the hotel and he hadn't said a word to her. Which got her worried because along with the silence and his presence all she could think of was, she made the first move last night and it made her feel like s**t. Gwen wondered why he acted so calm about everything or prolly she was the only one acting tensed since f*****g some random guy wasn't her forte. She let out a sigh as the coffee was set on the table opposite them. Watching the guy drink it with ease. “Look…”starting with an antsy expression “Liam." He cut in Her brows arched “I wasn't gonna ask for your name." “You didn't need to, Gwendolyn". Now this felt creepy as hell. "I'm gonna skip the part where you suddenly know my name but here….” Searching her bag for some money. She slipped him a thousand dollar bill. "Let's be civil and forget about last night. We never met each other, okay.” She rose up but he held her hand. “Sit." There was something in his tone and voice. She didn't want to show she got affected by it, even though it was had to ignore. “I'm not doing that." Crossing her arms “I s*x taped us." “What in the hell, you asshole…? "Be good, Miss Wilson.” he cautioned defiantly and she scoffed, rolling her eyes she sat back down and caught him smirking. “Coffees taste better when hot" It was a cue to drink up. And after eyeing him she began to sip slowly, being submissive was the only way out. “Be my fiance for this Christmas" Somehow the coffee overreacted and itched her throat before coming through her nose. What the hell did he just say? Taking the napkin he offered, Gwen glared at him. Her eyes were throwing daggers even though he looked as calm as any abnormal person would be. She rose up suddenly and he stood along with her. “Maximus Clifford, age 28, works in a business company as the head of sales team, spoilt American guy with two sisters and no other f****d brother to inherit his father's million dollar properties along with him. Guess who he's next of kin? Vanessa Bryant his mistress for a year who has a kid for him and not the fiance of four years.” Gwen didn't realize she wasn't breathing till he stopped and angled his head to get a clear picture of what her expression was like. Million dollar properties? He said his father was worthless. A year? How the f**k was he dating someone else for a year and she never sensed it. A kid? Her knees felt weak. “Be my fiance for the holiday and I'll help you get revenge on him" he put in curtly For some silly reason, the sound of revenge made her inner goddess sigh in relief. “Okay." Replying with a deadpan look which got William to adjust his position. “You are not going to think about this?" “Liam, I got my heart broken into a million pieces because of that asshole. Call me petty but I want him begging and admitted he was wrong” He swallowed. He'd memorized how badly his mother wants him to bring home a woman for Christmas but it seemed like he won't be needing that. “Here" Giving out a diamond gold ring. Gwen eyed it. Looking up at him, she noticed his eyes. Forest green and it took her back to the bar, Unlocking memories from last night. Quickly averting her gaze back to what he offered. “These are diamonds…. “The more realistic the less doubt. Now put it on." “Did you perhaps know I'd agree to this?" She asked, wondering how a diamond ring was already prepared. “No. But I know you needed the distraction" He smirked at her and she could feel her face burning. “Fake contract papers have been sorted out.” Watching her slip the ring on, It gave him the reason to access her Gwen had thick Brown hair, with almond eyes that kept him captivated, her lips, her slender fingers and straight nose….. “What's it like?" She broke through his thoughts. Blinking back his fazed expression. “Huh?" “I need to know what I'm signing up for, after that you can tell me What plans you have to ruin the life of my ex.” To Gwen It felt weird to address Max like that. It's not like they officially broke up. “Family holiday s**t," he didn't look at her eyes while talking. “Socks on a Christmas tree with some huge turkey on the dinner table? Yeah. I get that alot” It made him feel awkward that he had nothing more to say to that. Running his company gave him billions and no family connection whatsoever, “We'll leave for Quebec by dusk" he announced earning a slight frown from Gwen. “Can I use your phone?" She asked suddenly and he shrugged before handing it over to her. “Gimme a second" Rising from where she stood, the first minute she's dating and wants to get married the next she's heartbroken and running off to God knows where with another. “May?" Warming her hands in the pockets of the jacket she was wearing. “Gwen?" “May…. "Oh my god Mia, it's Gwen. Where the hell have you been?” The worry was evident in her tone “She's blonde, about ." “And right now? Don't tell me you're at the top of the bridge ready to take your life?" May "Ewww. No, I'm at the hotel.” "oh my God she went back to that asshole” Mia shrieked. “Noooo." Gwen shot back with a smile that made her glance at where he sat… ….……..
