Wednesday rolled around again and once work was done for the day, Gavin came home and the three of us ordered pizza before the discussion meeting. I still hadn’t told either of them about what had happened over the weekend with John. I guess I just didn’t feel like I needed to, he said he knew what he was doing, and they had both pushed me to get to know those in the local community. Who better than the one who ran a weekly event? Everyone seemed to know and like him, so there was no reason to raise alarms when I was just being silly, right? I did still feel a little weird about it, and my fingertips still tingled sometimes, especially when I was cold. I took that as just something that happened sometimes and pushed the worry aside even though it felt like a ball of ice that never left my stomach. Once we finished the pizza, I ran upstairs to change, pulling on a pair of black leggings because I was having trouble with the buttons on my jeans, and a soft blue tank top, layering my favourite black sweater over it. Lish and Gavin were downstairs waiting by the door for me when I came down, trying to look all smiles and excitement for what they thought was my third foray into this new part of my life.
Gavin drove again, so I was left to watch out the window on the way there, listening to them chatter in the front seat. I couldn’t get my mind off the weekend before though, as much as I tried. I knew John would be there tonight, he had even suggested I sit with him, but I didn’t want to, I felt safer with Lish and Gavin. That was odd, right? Was I just being a baby about something that happened to everyone? Maybe, I mean, some of the other girls looked as though they had been crying when they left the building, it couldn’t be just me.
I tried to make myself look as normal as possible when we arrived, saying hello to everyone who was already there. Seeing the girls again made me feel a little less nervous, and when John came out of the backroom, I smiled at him. He grinned back and patted the chair next to his, so I went over to say hello and set my things down. Thankfully there were chairs beside me that were still free, leaving Lish and Gavin to stay close. Once everyone was seated, John started the discussion, which was about the Daddy Dom/little girl dynamic. I knew a few things because of Abby and Clara, but I was really excited about this one because it seemed like something I would enjoy. After last weeks discussion, it started to look like every time I took on a new facet of this lifestyle, it dawned on me how many things I didn’t know, but resonated with. Abby and Clara both spoke quite a bit, and so did their Daddies, which I listened to with rapt attention even if every now and again I looked around the room, finding John with his head turned slightly to watch my reactions. Gavin and Lish were doing the same thing every so often, keeping tabs on me, so I brushed it off as a friend who wanted to make sure I didn’t look overwhelmed. I asked a few questions of my own during the open floor portion of the night and was pleased to find that the relationship between a Daddy and their little was something really special. It was caring that I had never really felt since my own dad was a bit of a hard ass when it came to me.
Once the discussion was over, we stood around talking a bit as usual. John lingered around listening wherever I went, but I mostly ignored him because Clara and Abby were giving me the down-low about finding a decent Daddy. They were few and far between, it seemed, as with most dominants, because there were just more submissives, but also it took a special kind of man to be a Daddy. The idea that there might be someone out there who needed to be firm and caring with me, always wanting the best for me even if I argued and acted like a brat, was something my romantic little heart wanted desperately. It wasn’t that I couldn’t remember to go to bed at a decent time, or drink enough water, or eat some vegetables now and again, it was that I wanted someone to care for me enough to remind me of these things. It was such a delightful dynamic, and I wanted to learn everything I could, but soon enough we were all headed for the door. It was late and we all had work to do the next day, even though some of the other girls had their own home businesses like Lish and I did, we all needed a good nights sleep. On the way to the car, John grabbed me by the arm to stop me, and when I turned to face him he was smiling at me again. It weirded me out a little, but I waved at Lish and Gavin to go ahead and warm the car up, it was winter in Michigan after all, and there was snow on the ground still. “So, have you thought about Friday?” He asked me as if I could have forgotten that he wanted to take me out. I looked away from him somewhat and he reached out to grab my chin, forcing me to look back at him. I tried to gather my thoughts, he was a decent looking guy, after all, and I should be flattered that someone in such high standing with the community wanted to take me out. “Um, yeah, I’d love to go out.” He smirked like he expected that answer, and I felt some of my trepidation give way to attraction. “Good, I’ll pick you up at 6 then, wear a dress, nothing too fancy.” “Are you always so demanding?” I was joking, of course, giving him a little sass, because it felt natural to. That had been the wrong move because John glared at me. “Are you always so disrespectful?” I blinked, looking up at him, confused because I was just being sassy, I didn’t think I had done anything wrong. “I didn’t mean for it to come out like that, I’m sorry.” I was saved from the conversation by Gavin pulling up and honking for me to get in.
I didn’t even look back, I ran and got into the car, waving at John as I went. “So what was that about, teacher’s pet?” Lish was on my case immediately, of course, that’s just how she was. I shouldn’t have expected anything less, she noticed everything, and of course, she was going to ask why I was standing out in the cold alone with John. “He’s taking me out on Friday, dinner I think.” That elicited a chorus of oohing from the front seat. I hid my face, which was hot from blushing, against the window and told them both to shut up. They did not. I was subject to questions the whole way home, one after another, and yet I still hadn’t told either of them about the weekend before. I’d hidden my hands in a pair of mittens to keep my fingers from getting too cold and tingling as they had been, but it wasn’t working. I grumbled, tired, annoyed and in pain by the time we arrived home. I got out of the car without another word and unlocked the house, going straight to my room without even saying goodnight. I changed clothes, my fingers barely working well enough to get out of my leggings and run a brush through my hair, but I managed. I would have done some research on how I was feeling, but I didn’t think I could even type well enough to get through a google search so I turned out the light and curled up in bed.
The next morning, Gavin was gone when I woke up, but I could smell fresh coffee. My fingers didn’t bother me so much in the morning, so I made my way downstairs and grabbed some breakfast before heading for the workroom to find Lish. She was already t**s deep in work, mixing and pouring resin, while there was a list for me of orders to pack up and get ready to be sent out. “So you and John, hmm?” It wasn’t like Lish to wait for me to bring something up, she just had to know right then. “I haven’t even finished my first cup of coffee yet, can you not wait ten minutes?” I was grumpy, not that it was her fault, I had slept badly, but I was taking it out on her because she was the one talking to me before I was even half awake. “Wow, so grouchy. Too busy dreaming about lover boy?” Lush was in a fine mood this morning, at my expense as per usual. Lovely. “No, I had nightmares ok, will you drop it?” I hadn’t meant to snap at her but in the moment I didn’t really feel bad about it either, she was really getting under my skin today and I wasn’t quite sure why. “I’m sorry, Lish, I’m just in a bad mood today. Forgive me?”
“Yeah yeah, let’s get this work done so we can go get latte’s and do some shopping.” Now that sounded like a wonderful idea, to be honest. “Yes please!” I shot back, finally perking up just a little at the prospect of something fun in a few hours when everything was sorted out for the day. The rest of the morning went swiftly and soon I was showered and getting ready for the afternoon out. My phone chimed, it was John. *Can’t wait to see you tomorrow xoxo* Ok, that’s actually pretty cute. *You too* I typed a quick reply and tucked my phone into my purse so I could head downstairs and meet Lish in the livingroom. “Ready?” She asked, and when I pulled my boots on and nodded, we headed out the door. I was surprised to see Gavin’s car in the driveway, but not Lish’s so I gave her a sideways glance of curiosity. “Gavin took mine to get the tires rotated and I think an oil change, so he left me his for the day.” I chuckled and slid into the passenger side of the Jeep. “Sure you can handle all this?” I laughed because Lish had been a notoriously bad driver in High School. People would literally jump out of the way when they saw her turn into the parking lot, she was so awful in the beginning. Thankfully, she’d had a boyfriend a few years ago who was a professional driver, and he had helped her. She was probably the best driver I knew these days. “Very funny. And don’t you tell any of those stories to Gavin, he’ll never let me drive the Jeep again!” I snorted and reached to turn the heat on and the music up. “I won’t tell if you’re buying!” She huffed but pulled out of the driveway and headed for the mall.
`Once we arrived, the two of us headed straight for the Starbuck’s kiosk and ordered, chattering away while we debated on what stores to go into and which to avoid. “Well, you need a dress for tomorrow, right? There’s that trendy new place down on the other end..yanno the one next to..” It was at that moment that the map popped up in my head and I knew exactly where she was headed. “Cinnabon!” We yelled it at the same time, cackling, then we linked arms with latte’s in hand and make our way off toward the end of the mall. Thankfully it wasn’t too busy, so we made it there in about 5 minutes, not stopping too often to window shop. I finished off my latte in record time and stepped into the store, walking right over to the dress section, though I was tempted several times to wander off course toward a table filled with leggings and sweaters. Stay with the program! I had to mentally coach myself, but I stayed on course and started digging through the racks of dresses. Alicia joined me a minute later and started digging through the other racks, holding things up to me now and again while I either nodded or shook my head. By the time we got through all the racks, I had a decent pile of dresses to try on, so I headed for a fitting room. I tried on each dress and the ones I didn’t want, I handed over the door to Lish to take back where we found them, it was something we had always done when shopping together. Once I was down to the top 5, I started stepping out to show Lish so she could give a yes or no on the matter. Down to the top three, I hear my phone chime and looked down at it, grinning a little when I saw that it was John.
Did I just smile when he texted me? When had that started? Ugh.*What are you doing?* I shook my head, considering not answering, but shot back a quick reply anyway. *Trying on dresses for tomorrow* I put my phone down again and tried one of the last three back on, looking this way and that in the mirror. It was a great dress, but the mint green of the background was just a little too bright. My phone chimed again. *Show me* What!? *Oh no, you’ll see tomorrow.* I smirked to myself and set the phone down to try on the light blue dress again since the soft violet flowers all over it really made the lavender in my hair stand out. *I said show me* The phone chimed again. *Come on, don’t you want to show off for Daddy?* I blushed, hard, and that surprised the heck out of me. Did he really just say that? I checked the text again and bit my lip before I shot a quick reply. *Sorry, already out of the fitting room.* And then I changed as quickly as I could and darted out, dress in hand, just so I wasn’t entirely fibbing to him.
Once the dress and a new necklace were paid for, Lish and I bounced over the Cinnabon, ordering a tray to take home so we could make them on Saturday morning, and then each of us got one for now. These things had to be like 5,000 calories each, but I did not care at that moment, they were too good to say no to, and we rarely allowed ourselves such a treat. Junk food bought and consumed, we grabbed our bags and headed home. Gavin made dinner when he arrived home that night, a welcome change from all the take-out that we usually ordered, and we ate together at the small kitchen table before parting ways for the evening. I managed to spend an hour reading a new book I had picked up the week before, and then changed and settled myself into bed for sleep. I was going to need plenty if I was going to manage my date tomorrow with John, I was already nervous.
