I rolled out of bed with a smile on my face around eight, trying to give myself plenty of time to get ready. Lish and Gavin were still in bed so I crept downstairs and made myself some coffee then curled up in my favorite spot in the bay window to enjoy it for a few minutes. I was still in awe that he had come out here for me, that he hadn’t just gone home last night and cancelled the rest of the weekend. A soft laugh escaped me and I leaned my head against the window for a moment before I took my empty mug to the dishwasher and headed up to my room for a shower. I lingered for a bit under the hot water as I contemplated what to wear and how to do my hair, an excuse to spend more time in the steamy bathroom instead of freezing while I dug through my closet and dresser.
