I wanted to ignore this call but part of me was afraid something terrible had happened to the pack. Half of it was mine, after all, and if something happened, I couldn’t ignore it.
I pushed Alpha Damien away as I sat on the bed, taking my phone from the bedside table. I could see his irritated expression. I sent him an apologetic smile before swiping the accept button.
“Did something happen to the pack?” I asked with worry.
But instead of telling me there was an emergency, I heard his urgent voice for another reason.
“No, no, the pack is alright,” he rushed to assure me.
I sighed in relief but got irritated again because why would he disturb me so late at night? “Then why are you calling me?” I didn’t even try to hide the annoyance from my voice.
