After making sure that we both understood our positions, especially mine, about the Luna ceremony and when it would be done, I felt a whole lot calmer.
My phone rang again, and as I looked at my phone screen, I saw it was another unknown number. I knew who it was without even needing to pick it up again and ignored his call. I really didn’t know why Elijah was so insistent on talking to me.
I should be the one desperate to talk to him after what he had done to me. Wait… The old me would probably do that. Was that why he kept calling me? Because I didn’t do what he thought I would do? Begging him to cancel the petition?
I sighed and thought about Damien again, about how much he had done for me. If I didn’t have him by my side, I might have done just that
