I finally told Damien everything that had happened to Lya since Elijah’s betrayal - how she had gone into deep slumber, and I thought she had reappeared again when he came to rescue me, but he was telling me now that his wolf couldn’t find Lya’s now.
“Is that why you froze and panicked just now?” He asked, still holding me to him, soothing me with his warm embrace.
Talking about Lya with Damien’s hand running up and down my back had stopped my tears. It felt like I finally found another confidant.
I drew back, and he kissed my eyelashes, which were still wet from the remnant of my tears, and shook my head.
“No. I thought she had reappeared after I wore your family’s heirloom, but you said your wolf couldn’t feel her presence anymore.”
