Salenko had assembled his twelve guests in the spacious, enclosed saloon on the opulent owner’s deck of the vessel, which had been refurbished in a lavish Art Deco style during a recent refit. Markov was offering the guests pre-prepared drinks. They appeared to be in good spirits and were enjoying the VIP treatment being afforded them on the luxury yacht. As the drinks were steadily consumed, the noise level in the room rose as the men chatted animatedly…. until Salenko tapped his ice hammer against the bar grill.
