Brodie slept fitfully that night, his mind switching between the memories of an unexpectedly pleasant evening spent with Anita Malik, ending with an even more unexpected kiss, plus the prospect of the drugs pick-up the next morning. He rose early, showered and dressed, then made breakfast. He sat at the breakfast bar, checking his email as he ate and drank a mug of strong black coffee.
