Before they retired for the night, Brodie and Malik enjoyed a few more glasses of wine sitting out on the terrace, their arms around each other, feet dangling into the cool water of Brodie’s swimming pool, listening to the rhythmic, almost hypnotic lapping of the sea as the waves broke onto the beach.
