32Arm in arm with David, Loreley walked out of her ward and went to the one downstairs. Sonny's room had already been cleaned and there was no odour which might disturb her. The drip hanging from the support was empty and she noticed a bottle of water and a glass with a straw on the nightstand, a sign that he was able to drink now. She went to the bed and sat beside him, careful not to make any noise, afraid to wake him up and find that too little had changed since the previous day.
