Mara's Birthday

Mara is still confused about the dinner arrangements.

"Mom! What's the occasion?" Mara asks.

"It's your birthday!" Izabella says.

"Now I lose my appetite" Mara says while she is having her worst birthday.

Mara gets up and about to go to her room when Izabella speaks "Already 15 years past, Mara."

"Now we forget the past, it's best for us," Mara says and leaves for her room.

Mara, who is having the flashes of her worst birthday, suddenly a doorbell rings and she stops her mom and goes to open the door. First she secretly looking outside from the hole and gets angry after seeing the cake with her birthday wishes. She opens the door in anger and then freeze on the spot to see her father.

Mara tries to close the door but Mr.Penelope enters the house by forcefully pushing the door. Mara gets startled and her eyes wide due to fear. Mara steps back as Mr.Penelope steps forwards towards her. And then he comes close to Mara while singing a happy birthday song for her. Mara starts getting panic attacks and her body starts shivering. And then Izabella sees Mr.Penelope she comes and hugs Mara but Mr.Penelope pulls Izabella towards her.

"Please stop 'Peni'! Don't do this, she is shivering due to fear. Please I beg you spare her" Izabella is begging to Mr.Penelope but he pushes her again and comes close to Mara while still singing a birthday song with an evil smirk on his face.

"M… mom!!" Mara stutters in a low voice.

She is facing difficulty breathing normally. Tears flowing in her eyes while her body shakes.

"She is having a panic attack. Please stop this Peni!!" Izabella begs.

Meanwhile Mara gets up with the help of the door and runs to her room and closes the door. She sits down while sobbing hard.

"What happened?" Mr.Penelope asks.

"Why are you here Mr.Penelope?" Izabella angrily says.

"What do you mean? I'm here to wish my daughter a happy birthday. She is also my daughter. I have the right to wish her a happy birthday" Mr.Penelope says.

"No. She is scared of you. Please go…!!" Izabella says.

Mara looks from the door hole in hesitation to see what's going on outside her room so she finds her mom and dad bickering over her. She sits back and sobs hard then after some minutes Mr.Penelope's voice isn't coming anymore so Mara wipes her tears and and again secretly looking outside from the door hole and screams to see her da also looking inside from this hole.

Mr.Penelope laughs out loud and Mara's heartbeat stops at the moment, now she is sobbing really hard.

"Aww!! Mara dear wants to play hide and seek with daddy, huh??" Mr.Penelope says while laughing.

Then Izabella comes and drags Mr.Penelope outside.

"If you don't go now I'll call guards so f@ck off from this house and never try to come back" Izabella fiercely says.

"Fine. But I'll not let go of this easily. I'll come to Mara again because I'm her father after all" Mr.Penelope says and leaves.

Then Izabella comes to drink water and hears some singing noise. She goes towards Mara's room and she sings a birthday song for herself while lighting the candle of her 9th birthday in front of Jesus statue.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MARA. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME" Mara sings a song while tears flowing from her eyes.

Then she smiles with teary eyes and cuts the cake, she acts like a 9th year old child and then offers one piece of cake to Jesus and then she eats cake with tears.

On the other side, Athena called Eugene outside of her house. Eugene comes and finds Athena with white flowers and a box. Eugene comes towards her.

"What's that??" Eugene asks.

"White flowers and a cake for Mara" Athena says while opening the box of cake.

"And what's the occasion??" Eugene asks.

"N… nothing! Her birthday. You forgot it already seriously" Athena says in disbelief.

"Mara's birthday…!" Eugene says.

"Yes…! And give this tomorrow in the office" Athena says with a smile.

"Wow!! Cake looks awesome" Eugene says.

"It's pretty, right??" Athena excitedly says.

"Womens are pretty, cakes are tasty…!!! Dumbest Boo!" Eugene says while licking some cream with his finger and Athena hits him.

"White white flowers! White cake! Only a shroud and a dead body left. It feels like we are going to a funeral, not a birthday" Eugene says.

"What are we going to do?? We, why?? It's only you who will give these things to Mara tomorrow in her office, got it?" Athena confusingly says.

"Because today is her happy birthday Eve" Eugene says.

"So what??"Athena asks.

"We celebrate our birthday with friends, right. But when we celebrate her birthday we will become her friends. And then I'll also say sorry for my elevator behavior. So how's the plan?" Eugene says like a kid 's voice while smirking.

"But…! She will hit you with her shoes" Athena says.

"Yeah she will hit you, not me. Because I'll take white white flowers with white white cake and to fill her white white life with colors I'll also take some pink balloons" Eugene says like a kid.

"No…!" Athena boldly says.

"Yes…!" Eugene says in stubbornness.

"Why you wanted to go at 12 dude? You will play friends with her tomorrow" Athena whining.

"But tomorrow is almost her birthday. But today is her happy birthday eve. Think how happy she will become when we celebrate her birthday with her friends" Eugene says again in a kid voice.

"No. I don't want to go" Athena whines.

"Yes you will," Eugene says.

"No…!! Athena loudly says.

"Yes…!!" Eugene also says.

They have a small kid fighting. Then Eugene picks Athena in a bridle style and goes to buy some balloons and Athena keeps whining.

Eugene and Athena come outside Mara's apartment.

Eugene is holding a pink balloon while Athena is holding a cake, flowers and some white balloons and she comes towards Eugene.

"Hi…!" Athena sarcastically says.

"Hi…!" Eugene says while looking at Mara's address.

"Didn't you feel pain because of holding so many things?" Athena sarcastically asks.

"No, why?" Eugene says.

"Dumbass…!" Athena thinks and then an evil idea pops up in her mind and she smirks.

"Cake fell on the floor. Cake falls on the floor" Athena shouts and Eugene starts panicking but when Athena laughs he hits her head.

"You almost gave me a heart attack Boo!" Eugene says.

"Huh! My fate isn't that exciting" Athena says while smiling.

"But tell me why you bought a pink balloon with white balloons, huh?" Athena asks.

"Boo! You know what Mara Penelope's life is almost white. Then if I will noy fill her life with colors then who?" Eugene says and then his eyes are shocked while seeing something on his phone.

"F@ck! Boo!! It's the same apartment" Eugene says while his mouth wide open.

"Yes the same apartment where I am standing with so many things and you only holding a stupid pink balloon" Athena shouts.

"Shut up! I mean it's the same house, remember?? Big dreams, big wishes, penthouse, Lamborghini, five star restaurant…!" Eugene explained.

They both have flashes of Christmas eve memories.

"So that girl was Mara…!!" Athena says while they both look at the same apartment.

"No. She lives on the 16th floor. Let's count the floor" Athena says.

Eugene starts to count and stops at 16th in the same apartment.

"Huh that's why she was mad at me when I interviewed her and she saw her picture. What a waste when I lectured her about dreams" Eugene says in disbelief.

"And you still think why Mara didn't like you, seriously?" Athena says while shaking her head in disbelief.

"Not only Mara, her father, also likes me. Because I'll live here soon" Eugene proudly says while Athena looks at him with disgusted eyes.

"I would like to throw up on your face. Proud and over confident ass!!" Athena says while silently cursing Eugene.

"Are you cursing me, huh??" Eugene asks.

"Who will not curse you?" Athena says while smiling.

"You…!" Eugene says and pulls Athena towards her by her waist.

"What did you say?" Eugene asks, staring at Athena's soul.

Athena is internally panicking. She is so close with her love her heartbeats become fast. They both looked into each other's eyes.

"I… I said everyone likes to curse you" Athena says in a breath to divert her mind.

Eugene pulls her closer.

"If you will leave then I'll drop the cake" Athena says and Eugene free her waist.

"No. No! Please…!!" Eugene says while Athena smiles.

Eugene throws a birthday party for Mara in the office without telling her and everyone joins him. But bad memories never let go of our side so easily and that's what happened with Mara…!!!
