Krystal's POV ​I pushed through the heavy glass doors of the executive floor and my legs felt like they were made of lead, because I had spent the last four hours in a cramped clinic hallway while the doctor treated Lysander’s chest infection and gave him a heavy dose of antibiotics. I had left him with Mrs. Gable under strict instructions to keep the doors bolted, and even though I was shaking from lack of sleep and my eyes were red from crying, I knew I had to come back to the office to face whatever storm was waiting for me. I didn't even have time to set my bag down at my desk before I saw Alex standing in the doorway of his office, and he didn't look like the man who had comforted me in the breakroom yesterday, instead he looked like someone who wanted to burn the entire building
