Alex's POV The museum was filled with the kind of people who only cared about how much money they could give to charity while making sure everyone saw them doing it, and as I walked up the grand stone steps with Bianca clutching my left arm, I could feel the heat of the camera flashes against my skin. Bianca was talking about the guest list and how she wanted to make sure we were photographed with the mayor, but I wasn't listening to a single word she said because I was too focused on the sound of Krystal’s heels clicking on the marble floor behind us. I had told her to walk three steps back because that was her role as my assistant, but every time I felt the distance between us, it felt wrong and irritating, and I found myself slowing my pace just so she wouldn't fall too far behind
