ALEX'S POV My heart was pounding as I paced the cramped room. My eyes were glued to the screen showing only static and I couldn't help the uneasy feeling in my chest. Each second that passed felt like an eternity. I'd been listening to every sound, every strained whisper from Allison as she followed Brady into that room. But now, there was nothing. Just silence. "Are you getting anything?" I asked as I turned to the technician. He didn’t look up. He just gave me a silent gesture to be patient. But my patience had worn thin hours ago. “Dammit!” I cursed. I slammed my fist down onto the nearby table. The thud echoed but it did nothing to ease the anger I felt. My wolf stirred restlessly. He was ready to surface and take control.
