ALLISON’S POV The sound of a knock on the door pulled me from my sleep. I had barely slept. The pain of Allen’s words made it hard for me to sleep. The cold distance between us felt like a huge wall. I longed to wake up in his arms, to feel the warmth of our connection, but instead, I had woken up alone in the Luna’s room. I hadn’t been allowed to stay with them. Allen’s rejection was still fresh in my mind, and I couldn’t shake the feeling of his words. I missed them both, missed the way we had been so close, and yet now it felt like we were miles apart. “Come in,” I called out.
