Chapter 12

1124 Words
Not long after Stanley Flair was declared dead by the doctor, the lawyer walked up to Luthan and asked him to speak at his earliest convenience. Stanley had already arranged everything for Luthan to be his successor and they planned to waste no time in putting things in place, no doubt this was all Stanley's orders. Luthan took on the responsibility as Stanley's living successor to make sure that Stanley was seen off the earth the way he wanted. He handled the funeral exactly the way Stanley had wanted and said a final farewell to the amazing friend he had stumbled into in prison and in life. The lawyer was quick and efficient. In no time all the assets were transfered to Luthan and as soon as he sorted out everything there he returned back to his city. While Luthan had just inherited an insane amount of money, the Kings were not doing well at all. The investors they had managed to pull using Luthan's name had deserted them at the early stages and they were on thin ice. Luthan had a lot of work to handle so he didn't actually pay them attention since he returned to the city, this time they were the ones who came to him. Arthur had been having a lot of issues with his father lately. The man had been making him feel like the state of their finances was all because of him. Comments from his father about him not contributing to the growth of the family or not doing anything to help their bankruptcy had increased a lot and Arthur himself could feel the pressure extremely. He got the idea when he was discussing with his friends. They mentioned a new cooperation that was aiding, buying and developing small business. He quickly looked into it and was shocked to find just how much this company could help their family if they could gain their assistance. All their worries would be worked out. The debts, the house. He could once again live the lavish life he deserved without selling any of his cars or property. He hurried to the cooperation as soon as he could. He was pitching his proposal to the manager and he was doing it well when the person he least expect walked in. Arthur couldn't help it, the anxious anger that came up whenever he saw Luthan came out unrepressed. “What's this? Look who we have here,” he taunted. Luthan clearly wanted to walk off, he had a hand in his pocket and was strolling away but he couldn't when he heard Arthur's words. “If it isn't the r****t, ex-con who blew his entire lottery winnings on a disfigured broad.” Arthur smiled because he knew his words had struck a chord. The exact chord he'd wanted them to strike. “What are you doing here? This place isn't a charity bro, it rescues companies not people. Since you don't have a company, did you take a wrong turn on your way to rehab?” The manager that Arthur had been speaking to had been relentlessly tugging on the sleeve of Arthur's suit. Arthur knew he was not being very appropriate in the office but they certainly couldn't deny him due to a personal dispute he has with someone. Especially when that someone was an ex-convict and a known r****t. He hadn't really noticed the tugging that much at first but it became extremely persistent and he had to look that way. The manager was making gestures for him to stop talking. It puzzled Arthur. When Luthan turned towards him and began to march in his direction it took all his might to keep from smiling as he thought to himself ‘come on Luthan, come throw the first punch. Come add assault to your list of convictions.’ He prepared himself to give Luthan a good beating, in self defense of course. The punch never came however because someone came in at that exact moment and distracted Luthan. Luthan's eyes stayed piercing holes through his brother for a while before he turned away to look at the newcomer in their midst. “Boss,” the man who just walked in was addressing Luthan and Arthur also turned to look at him only to find himself face to face with Jordan Reigns, the sole heir to the Reigns empire. His jaw dropped to the floor. “Boss?” Arthur exclaimed and was promptly ignored. His jaw fell even further beyond the floor as the scene before him unfolded. “Mr. Luthan, sir,” Reigns continued. “I know you've been very busy, I've been coming in regularly to see you but I've been unable to get a hold of you. I know that you find my business proposal to be a good one. I really really hope that you will endorse it. I am willing to review the offer to see how it would better please you.” “Why are you asking him?” Arthur couldn't help but scream out loud. “Who do you think he is because you must be mistaking.” Jordan Reigns only raised a brow at him and proceeded to ignore him. It was the manager who then came to stand in front of Arthur. “Sir, this is the owner and CEO of L.K cooperation, Mr. Luthan King.” The manager said. “That can't be,” Arthur whispered then yelled. “It can't be, that doesn't make any sense!” Luthan turned to the Manager, “why is this madman still in this building?” “I'm so sorry sir,” the manger said. “I'll have him removed from the premises right away.” “Please do.” “I'm sorry sir,” the manager said to Arthur. “You'll have to leave.” “Wait,” Arthur sputtered. “Hold on. You aren't done with my proposal yet.” “Deny it,” Luthan said curtly from his spot a few feet away, hand still in his pocket. “Denied sir,” the manager said without missing a beat then he turned to Arthur. “That would be all Mr. Arthur, please exit the premises.” “Why would you do what that man tells you?” Arthur pointed at Luthan and screamed. “He's an imposter! God knows what he's done to the real owner but he certainly isn't here by legal means! He's a r****t, an ex-con! For all we know he broke out of jail and is wanted right now!” His words became more and more unhinged and louder and soon enough two security guards were hauling him out of the building while he screamed bloody murder.
