“I’m not sure, auntie, I’ve done some pretty bad things,” he admitted with shame, but the woman just laughed.
“Oh, sweetie, you’re not capable of being cruel. Just apologize and let him know you love him. If that doesn’t help then here, this is something I want you to have.” She pushed a small box into his hand and he looked at it curiously before realizing what it was as he opened the lid. He quickly shook his head in protest.
“I can’t take it. It’s your wedding ring,” he said. He couldn’t accept it. At this point, Liam wouldn’t even say yes.
“Of course you can. When I was in the hospital I realized I want to see my sweet boy get married. No pressure to jump into it any time soon, but keep the ring. I want to watch over both of you forever,” she said with a warm smile.
