CAMILLIA'S POV "Camillia." My heart pounded so hard against my chest that I feared it would come out. The grip on my wrist tightened. “What—what are you doing? Let go of me.” I whispered. Fear gripped me even more the moment our eyes meant. He finally let go and the air around my wrist became so cold not until Ricosta's hand closed around my arm and yanked me away from the wall. He didn't look at his brother. Not once. His eyes were fixed ahead, jaw locked, dragging me through the corridor. "Ricosta please." I stumbled trying to match his strides. "It wasn't what you saw. I have nothing to do with him. He didn't kiss me…" We were outside before I could finish my sentence. The black SUV was already waiting. He shoved me into the back seat and climbed in after me. The door shut. I pressed myself against the opposite door and watched him from the corner of my eye. He sat completely still. Forearms resting on his knees. Eyes forward. The only thing that betrayed him was the vein running along his jaw. “It’s really not….” "Keep quiet," he said without looking at me. Maybe that was better, his eyes could tear me in two. The mansion appeared through the dark trees faster than I wanted it to. The moment the car stopped he was already moving, hand locked around my wrist before my heels hit the gravel. He walked fast. Long punishing strides that made my legs burn in my heels trying to keep up. "Ricosta I'm telling you nothing happened…." The entrance doors swung open. And a lady, middle aged but face plastered with heavy foundation. She looked like money, and maybe some resemblance with Ricosta. Was she the popular lady Sabrina Vighann, rumor has it she never smiles. Like her son. An expression that made the temperature of the entire foyer drop three degrees. Her gaze moved over me slowly. Head to toe. The way you look at something you are deciding whether to keep or discard. "So." Her voice was smooth as glass and just as sharp. "This is the pureblood girl." She walked toward me in a slow circle. I stood completely still because something about her made every instinct in my body go quiet. "Small," she remarked. "Narrow hips." She stopped in front of me and lifted my chin with black leather gloved fingers. "Are you certain she can survive carrying a Vighann heir? Our blood is thick. Most girls of her rank bleed out before the second trimester." "I am standing right here, ma'am," I said. Sabina's eyes cut to mine. "Yes," she said flatly. "And yet somehow still invisible." She released my chin and turned to Ricosta. “She has a tongue. Too much. Deal with that. She is here for one purpose. Once she produces a son, the northern borders are secured and she becomes background. Do not let her get too comfortable." “Excuse you?” She turned and walked away. Wow…such nasty old mouth. I stood there feeling like I had been peeled open in the middle of the foyer and nobody had bothered to look at what was inside. Ricosta didn't say a single word to his mother. Not in my defense. Not in acknowledgment. Nothing. He just turned and started walking up the stairs still gripping my wrist and I had no choice but to follow because my body apparently belonged to him now. By the time we reached the top, my heels were screaming against my feet. I could feel a blister forming on my left heel. I bit down on the inside of my cheek and kept moving. He pushed open a set of double doors at the end of the corridor. The room was massive. Dark greys and deep blacks. Heavy curtains. A bed so large it looked like it could swallow a person whole. It smelled like cedar and…I sniffed in more….ohh rose.. "What are we doing here?" I asked. "You said guest wing…." Before I could complete my words he tossed me into the bed with one swift motion. Shrugged off his suit jacket and tossed it over the chair without looking at me. "Ricosta." My voice came out smaller than I wanted. "What are you doing?" He loosened his tie. I backed up until my back hit the headboard He came in too, one knee on the bed. He pulled my wrists above my head and looped his tie around them in two practiced movements. “You….are you addicted to being a bandit?” I couldn't help but yell and regretted it immediately, his expression became even more cold. Feeling a streak of cold sweat rolling from my forehead. "I gave you one rule." His voice was barely above a whisper. Almost gentle. That was the terrifying part. "Don't leave my sight." "I—Riscota please." My voice cracked. "Please I'm sorry, I just needed air, I wasn't trying to—" He suddenly gripped my chin, and pulled me closer to him, so close that his warm breath was on my neck. "You went looking for trouble," he said. "And you found it." “No— no that's not true…” Before I could complete my words the tear of fabric resounded in the room and my boobs were suddenly out in front of him. "Stop," I whispered. Tears were burning behind my eyes. "Please stop…” His mouth moved to my collarbone. My sternum. His hands slid down my sides and I was shaking and crying and then his palm ran up the inside of my thigh, he caressed it slowly and steadily, not until I felt his warm palm movement on my c**t, I couldn't breathe, couldn't think couldn't— “Argh….ough.” The sound escaped my lips before I could stop it. Humiliating as f**k. He stopped. The silence that followed was so complete I could hear my own heartbeat. He pulled back and looked at me. His usual cold eyes now filled with disgust. He stood up. Straightened his shirt and looked away. "Get out." I didn't wait. I pulled my torn dress together with shaking hands and scrambled off the bed. Yanked the tie from my wrists. I walked to the door on legs that barely worked and pulled it open. I walked fast through the corridor and not sure of the directions I was taking, I just needed to be anywhere away from him My heart was beating faster. Just to be knocked into a firm, warm surface, a chest. Solid. Warm. Familiar in the worst possible way. I looked up. “Dante Vighann.”
