TERA.
I don't remember much about what happened after we arrived at the gala. Camera flashes burst around us like fireworks as we walked the length of the press gauntlet. Everyone was asking who the mystery girl on Alex's arm was and i was feeling so overwhelmed i just wanted to get away.
The moment we crossed over into the building someone called him giving me a chance to go to the ladies room to freshen up. My anxiety was kicking in and I am mostly socially arkward. I didn't like being around this many people and my fears were starting to kick in. What if someone recognizes me and gives the paparazzi tips, it definitely won't look good.
"Tera! " Alex's friend. Jeremy exclaimed as he approached me "that dress looks stunning on you"
Hee kissed me in both of my cheeks. He was so handsome in his black tuxedo.
"thank you" i said snatching a champagne glass from a passing waiter. I was going to need as much liquid courage to get through this event. I took a gulp of champagne as i searched the room for Alex . I didn't want to spend any more time alone with his friend incase i ended up saying the wrong thing.
"So are you and Alex a thing now?"
Jeremy asked. My body immediately stiffened, we hadn't exactly discussed what to say to such questions so that we don't say different things before i could answer him,
"Ignore him" Alex said sliding his hands through my waist from behind me. "he never approves any of my girlfriends, he is always interviewing them, then says they are not good enough for me."
As he set his hand on my lower back a shock of awareness spread through my body like fire. When his fingers flexed through me i wondered if he felt it too.
" You ran off Tera"he almost whispered in my ears in the most seductive voice i have ever heard.
" well i was giving you time to say hello to all the people who wanted to talk to you "
" You are supposed to be on my arm remember? If we are supposed to sell this girlfriend thing" he says now almost whispering into my ears.
"Honestly i thought we were doing this for your parents, i did not realise you also wanted the whole world to know" i say choosing my words carefully "
He regards me for a moment before finally speaking" am actually not looking to be in a relationship and i want to concentrate on my work, the world knowing i have a girlfriend will make the women throwing themselves at me stop"
He extended his arm to me. "May i have this dance?"
I picked up my clutch and smiled "i would love to dance"
Arm in arm we headed to the dance floor, and we moved naturally into the music. He was a skilled dancer, agile, confident in his lead.
We danced very well as a couple, i relaxed into his hold. Alex pulled me closer, it didn't help that being so close to a man i had recently been intimate with seduced my senses. He smelled scrumptious with undertones of s*x. And the way he led me through the bokd sweeping steps made me feel the soreness deep inside me.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" he asked me
Blushing and getting me out of my dark dirty thoughts "yeah i am"
"i have never been to such an expensive party"
He looks at me confused and totally shocked
"whaat, you're about to say that's weird considering what i do for a living aren't you?" i say now looking him up straight in the eye
His gaze caught mine, and held it, i could see amusement in his eyes.
"So why do you do, what you do for a living?"
"Tough question" i say slightly uncomfortable
"No, we are just talking, you're a pretty smart woman, so why, humor me"
"if I say i like it, would you change the subject of discussion?"
"i would if i believed you, come on Tera no one works as a professional call girl for fun, what's the story?"
"But that's the thing, most people expect a really moving sad story to explain why people like me choose to do this for a living, no one is ever ready to hear that some of us just do it because we want to"
His brows lifted, then a softness came into his eyes"so you want to tell me Tera you do, what you do because you love s*x? "
" Not necessarily, I wouldn't put it that way, i love s*x yes, but i do the job because it pays well, i figured i might as well get paid doubt what i love"
Alex almost froze for a moment by my straightforwardness
"Look, not all of us are born with gold spoons in our mouths" i chuckle as i see him raising his eyebrows "no offense" some of us have to work hard to get where we want. Am paying for law school, i need rent for my house money for personal use, and i know i could get a normal job like waiting tables, but the jobs pay shitty money"
"Well i for one work hard for my billions" he says trying to find a smile "i have had my fair share of call girls, they all have sob stories, i must say it's not often you find a woman who thinks like you Tera"
"ooooh" i say teasingly "so call girls are your thing?is that why you hired me to be your pretend girl instead of getting an actual girlfriend?"
A little flushed and embarrassed "well not usually, but it's much easier, coz for you, this is a business, you won't get the wrong idea or impression"
"And why did you choose me specifically?? I read tabloids you know, i hear you're mostly into blondes"
"wait what?" he says smilling like a twelve year old "I don't have a type, i just happen to find myself with women who have similar features "
"am sure that's the definition of type, but hey, so why did you choose me, am totally the opposite of what you usually go for, and please don't tell me it was because of my brains"
"I chose you because you hold a certain form of innocency, like you have so much to give other than your banging body. And yes you do have a killer bod, big amazing huge titties and a big butt"
With those words he sent an urge all over my body, daaamn the man just had a way with his words.
"I just don't know what it is with you Tera, you are just different"
At this point my inner thighs are on on heat and i decide to play, test the waters with this beautiful man.
I lean over him to his broad shoulders, then slowly whisper in his ears in the most seductive voice i didn't know i had
"Do you want me to help you figure out what it is?" he hardened instantly.
He pulls me even closer and i can feel as he grabs my butt squeezing,
"i can tell you, but showing you will be much easier" i say feeling the excitement of his c**k through his jeans.
He looks at me with hunger and desire, his eyes turn dark or maybe i was just turned on
"Tera meet me in the rooftop in ten," he says instantly pulling away and walking away.
I stand there for a moment trying to catch my breath.
It took longer to get to the rooftop. I had to rush to the bathroom to freshen up first before i decided to go to the rooftop. Moments later i Burst through the door to the rooftop.
I scan around for Alex since he left before me, when i see him, he has his whole mouth down another woman's throat. She looked exactly like the kind of woman he would be spotted with,a blonde tall and slender. Her dress was modestly sexy, a flowing sheath of creamy satin that contrasted beautifully with her olive skin. She looked like a f*****g super model. He was kissing her like his life depended on it. I was irritated wondering did he do this on purpose to humiliate me. Closing my eyes i shored up my composure, i didn't need this.
I walked away slowly trying not to make any noise and interrupt their deep make out session.
I maintained my cool and didn't stop until i was outside the gala. I wanted nothing more than to be home, but i couldn't leave without him or his parents to say the least. But i needed the fresh air. So instead i decided to take the time and call my best friend Claire and check up on her and my son.
Luckily enough Claire picked on the first ring
"Hey mama," she answered excitingly, "we miss you so much, you just missed kyle, i put him to sleep like 5 minutes ago, do you need me to wake him up?"
"No, just let him sleep, I will talk to him tomorrow, i miss you so much. I wish you were here with me, i have never gone to any party without you"
"i know Tera, but when you're done with that we will go out i promise. So how is your fake boyfriend doing, am sure you didn't call me just to say you miss me" Clare says laughing
“First of all i called because i miss you guys and yes i also called to vent, this man is driving me kinda nuts”
“What do you mean kinda nuts? “
“i don't know, just like now we were dancing having a real conversation, even flirted a little and then he told me to meet him in the rooftop only when i went to meet him, he was kissing some beautiful woman.”
Claire breathes heavily “i just don't know how to deal with him you know? He says one thing then goes and does the complete opposite, sometimes he treats me like am his actual girlfriend then he would completely turn and treat me like the hired girlfriend i just dont know, it's confusing .”
“Am sorry baby, what are you going to do?”
“Nothing, their's nothing i can do about it, i mean he is literally paying me to be here”
“well just be careful babe, stick to basics the two weeks will be over before you even know it.”
Tera breathed heavily before saying her goodbyes to her best friend
“i have to go before they notice am gone, i will call you tomorrow kiss kyle for me, bye.”
I put my phone back and walk back into the gala.
It's not long before Alex finds me
“you keep running off,” he muttered, scowling down at me. “ you were supposed to meet me, what happened?”
“Looks like someone picked up the slacks quick enough”, i say with attitude
His brow arched
“i came and you were with some blonde, I was right after all, she was a blonde”
“Jealous much Tera?”
“seriously?” i looked away. I was not going to waste my time explaining to him it was disrespectful. I started walking away, he pulled my hand catching me by the wrist
“she is just a friend”his jaw tightened
“If you say so Alex, but if we are here as a couple and you want people to believe am your girlfriend then you shouldn't be kissing other women, people might see you and it will cause a scandal. it's none of my business either way am tired i want to go home.”
“the driver can drive you back home, i still need to talk to some people before i leave”
“that's okay, i will wait outside then.”
I walk away irritated by this man. I had no problem playing his girl for the two weeks but i was not okay with being played for a fool.
