A Night of Restless Thoughts
Entering my suite, a strange feeling settled over me.
This was my space now. My home. And yet… I felt out of place.
People were still working, the soft hum of activity lingering in the background, but I wanted none of it. I didn’t want to burden anyone.
All I wanted was a long bath, comfortable clothes, and maybe something to distract me from the growing, unshakable feelings swirling inside me.
The feelings I didn’t want to stop.
Shutting the door behind me, I leaned against it, tilting my head back with a sigh.
“What have I gotten myself into this time?”
The question brought a flood of memories, images flashing in my mind like a movie reel.
Waking up on the jet. Kody’s bare chest inches from mine. His warm, steady breathing.
