17 Drinking And Entertaining

1011 Words
Kristi could feel Mr. Jones' eyes on her body like fingers, and her body stiffened. Luckily, Mr. Jones seemed disinterested in her. He turned to Alicia and said, "Why would I be interested in her? She's nothing but a bag of bones!" "Mr. Jones," Alicia argued, "she may be skinny, but she is very skilled. Please don't underestimate her." Without waiting for a reply, Alicia summoned several other PR girls into the box. She arranged them in a circle and said, "Today, Mr. Jones will be the host, and we will play a game of "Drink or Risk" to make him happy. We will pass a bottle of wine around the circle, and when it comes to your turn, you can take a drink or take a risk." She turned to Kristi. "And you will go first." "I-I c-can't d-drink…" Kristi stammered. Alicia laughed and said, "Kristi, you know the club's rules. The guests are our Gods, and it is our job to meet their needs. I know that our Minister takes good care of you, but Mr. Jones is our most important client. Will you refuse this?" Alicia was determined to embarrass Kristi. All eyes were on her. One of the girls scowled and said, "You have no right to refuse." Kristi knew this was true, so, after taking a deep breath, she took the bottle from Alicia's hand, brought it to her mouth, and drank from it. Almost immediately, a burning sensation appeared in her stomach, and she clenched her fists in an attempt to endure the discomfort – and after having just one sip, her head started to feel dizzy, and her cheeks turned pink. Mr. Jones smiled and said, "Go on, who should go next? This game is fun!" The wine went around the circle, and before Kristi knew it, it was her turn again. She tried to refuse, but Alicia pushed the bottle into her hand and said, "Kristi, it's okay. We're all drinking, and it's your turn. You can't refuse. If you do, it will ruin our guest's mood." Kristi sighed as she took the bottle and drank from it again. Alicia watched her with a wolfish grin. She wanted to see how much Kristi could drink. The bottle continued to go around the circle for about a half-hour, and every time it reached Kristi, Alecia forced her to drink. Kristi did her best to play amicably, but the more she drank, the more her stomach burned. She felt like she was drinking poison. "It hurts..." she moaned. Kristi slightly bent at the waist and pressed her hand firmly to her stomach in an attempt to relieve the pain, but it was of no use. The game continued, and when next Kristi drank, she collapsed to the ground and slipped into unconsciousness. The box went quiet all of a sudden, and Mr. Jones stood up. He looked at Kristi, who was lying on the floor. "Is she... is she dead?" "I don't know," Alicia replied. She thought that she was, but she kicked her to be sure. Kristi's unconscious body twitched, and Alicia said, "She's not dead, she's just drunk. She'll probably be out for a while. Let's not let her spoil our fun. We can take our party to another box." Mr. Jones said that he would like that, so they all left the box, ignoring Kristi as they stepped over her.   ***   When Ray got off the plane, Marco informed him that some entertainment had been planned and that he would be meeting with some investors. At this stage, the bidding project in the Western District was Black's fanciest project, and several executives had been waiting for him to return so that they could invest. Marco was driving the car. Ray leaned back in his seat, pressed his eyebrows with his fingers, and asked him casually, "Where are we going?" Marco raised his eyes. He looked at Ray in the rearview mirror, hesitated for a moment, and said, "The Diamond Club." For the first time in Ray's life, the thought of the Diamond Club did not raise his spirits. Kristi's face appeared in his mind, and it occurred to him that she'd ruined the place for him. He pressed his lips tightly together and grimaced. Marco hesitated for a moment and asked if he should cancel the event. "It's fine," Ray replied, and then he closed his eyes and went to sleep.   ***   A box had been arranged at the Diamond Club, and several executives had been waiting for Ray for a long time. Ray didn't care, though. He was in a bad mood, and he didn't feel like dealing with these old foxes. After drinking a glass of wine, Ray stood up and said, "Sorry, I have to go. Something important just came up." And then he turned around and left the box. Ray had only been in the club for five minutes, and the executives were shocked. They looked at each other, and for a few minutes, no one said a word. Tianna had been standing outside the box, and when she saw Ray come out so quickly, she was speechless. Ray frowned. "Where is Kristina?" he asked. "Kristi is with a guest," Tianna replied. "She should be in box number eight." Ray grunted and headed off in the direction of box number eight, and Marco followed behind him. Once he caught up to Ray, he said, "Ray, what's wrong?" "Miss Zuniga is not supposed to be entertaining guests," Ray explained angrily. "She should be serving them wine and doing nothing more than that!" They arrived at Kristi's box momentarily, with Marco taking the lead, but before they could open the box, they were interrupted by Miles Bradford. "Mr. Bradford," he said, "what are you doing here?" Miles laughed and said, "I like it here! What about you? Are you looking for Kristi?" Ray looked at Miles for a moment, and a deep frown settled on his face. He said, "It's none of your business," and then he motioned for Marco to open the door. Marco opened the door, and when Ray saw that Kristi was alone and lying on the ground, he realized that Miles was Kristi's guest.
