An Itch You Can't Scratch

Atlas's POV When I arrived at Mr. Stone's English class, there were only two or three other students already there. The girl on my desk was one of them. I could see her debating briefly if it was too early for her to turn her chair around to face the desk behind, even though her friend's weren't there yet, or if she should wait it out a bit of the lesson first.  She was rifling in her bag looking for something, when I thumped my backpack onto the desk, making her jump in surprise.  Unbidden, Corvus's words came back to my mind as I watched her pink mouth form a perfect O, her eyes widened in surprise and her cheeks flushed. If I let myself go, just a little bit, would I be able to stop? As I sat down, I could hear her pulse pick up that strongly that I could almost feel it.  Every inch of the predatory thing inside of me wanted to snap at her, see just how fast I could get that pulse going, I wanted to make her run, I wanted to chase her. I wanted to watch her expression change as I sunk my teeth and nails into her pale skin. I wanted . . . I want.  No.  I shook my head, trying to clear the fog that had come over me.  I wanted to blame Corvus but, truth be told, wolf or not, the full moon yesterday had pulled on something internal in me and clearly brought the worst in me right to the surface.  Mr Stone came into the classroom and I felt her sit upright beside me, dutifully paying attention.  It had to have been her Corvus was talking about. That he scared last night. I needed to try and talk to her and try and gage what she thought she saw.  He really was an i***t.  She didn't look like she'd had a particular fright, or like she'd seen something odd.  Next to me she shifted, crossing her legs the other way and pushing her hair behind her ear. I watched as her finger delicately traced the outside of her ear. I watched the rise and fall of her chest as she breathed deeply, engrossed in what the teacher was saying. I imagined Corvus stood over her in his wolf form, her chest moving much more rapidly, not in the steady rhythm it was doing now. He said she had whimpered. I wonder how that sounds, is it a little keen that comes from her, or is something deeper gutteral. Was she frightened? She must have been frightened. I wanted to taste her fear. I wanted to know if she was sweet or savoury. I want to taste her. I want to chase her. I want to hear her pant.  I growled deep in my throat but turned it very quickly into a cough.  What was wrong with me today?!  Between the full moon, Nova in my room and Corvus, my control wasn't what it usually was.  But she didn't help matters.  The way she simpered, the way her heartbeat fluttered like a butterfly at the slightest thing, the way that everything about her was prey.  I ground my teeth. I was doing it again.  Mr Stone had stopped droning on and I hadn't taken a word of it in. I learnt across to touch her hand to ask what we were supposed to be doing and recoiled at how cold her hands was. She was like ice. She looked at me, startled by the contact and my reaction. There went her pulse again. I wonder if the rest of her is that cold to the touch.  "Yes?" She asked, a confused expression on her face. Yes? Yes what?!  Wait, no. I touched her, dummy.  "Sorry, what are we doing?"  She blinked owlishly up at me.  Visions filled my mind of watching those thick eyelashes flutter as her eyes rolled back in her head as I . .  "Lady McBeth"  "What?" I asked, blinking hard to clear the image of her from my head and focus on what was in front of me right now.  "We're supposed to be analysing Lady McBeth, here" She leant across me to grab my exercise book and put me on the right page. I inhaled deeply as she did.  I couldn't think straight.  "Excuse me"  Getting up out of my seat, I grabbed my backpack from under the table, leaving my exercise book there and made straight for the door. It'd smell of her now and if I took it with me it might undo me entirely.  I needed to clear my head.  I took my phone out of my back pocket and text Nova to meet me outside. From my front pocket on my backpack I took out a ready rolled cigarette and lit it as I let myself out a forefoot and into the fresh air. I dragged deeply, needed to taste anything that wasn't her, before I went straight back into that classroom and dragged her out of there and had her up against the wall.  The brick was rough, it'd scratch at her smooth cold skin. If she touched you she'd leave an icy trail you'd feel for days.  A frustrated growl ripped itself from my throat.  "At?" Nova had found me. There was none of her characteristic disinterest, her voice was full of concern as she said my name. "What's the matter?" But I had no interest in talking it out with her. I grabbed her roughly by the hair and slammed her against the wall, crashing my mouth down on to hers. Her surprise very quickly gave way to reciprocation as she tangled her hands in my hair and pulled me closer, her body melting under me.  Would she have done the same? Would she melt at my touch or would she resist? Would she try and run.  I could smell Nova's want. I could taste how much she wanted me on the air.  Would her need smell the same way. Would her body want me, even if she didn't? Would it respond to my touch even as she struggled to get away?  I slammed myself against Nova roughly, causing her to cry out, but I swallowed the sound as I closed my mouth around hers again.  Most of the wolves at Orion house are all bedding one another before they're mated. It helps strengthen the pack bond, not to mention deals with any pesky pent up feelings that might arise, like I was dealing with now.  "I'm going to take you" I growled in her ear. "Yes" She panted eagerly. I always swore I wouldn't though.  After seeing how what my father did hurt my mother.  "You're mine"  "All yours" Came the breathy reply. I wouldn't be like him.  I wouldn't bed anyone but my mate.  I thought of her, panting, with Corvus's wolf looming over her. It was like my whole body was itching, on fire, and I needed her ice cold touch to scratch it. With a growl that was closer to a roar, I pulled myself from Nova, and punched the wall to try and relieve some tension. It didn't work.  "What has gotten into you!" She hissed at me, her lips swollen and her hair tousseled.  "Nothing" I growled between pants, my body heaving with the effort of trying to regain my composure.  Nova peered more closely at me then. "Wait. No, stop it, let me look at you" She grabbed either side of my face a looked intently into my eyes. "We've got to get you home" She said.  I might've argued, only I felt like I was going to pass out and resistance was more than I was capable of, so I let Nova take my hand and guide me off of the school grounds and take me back home.
