Chapter 1 - That Fateful Day

I was walking around the Town as I was amazed by the game's details. I then looked at the back of my hand as I saw A green Bar, My name, and a bar that says "EXP" on it. I was so confused at what this means as I then heard commotion, I looked up from the back of my hand as I hear someone say "Move out of the way!" as It sounded like a girl voice. As I looked The Mysterious person crashed into me as we both fell onto the concrete floor. "Ow..." I said as I sat up and then got up. I looked at the Mysterious person as I put my hand out towards them. The Mysterious person was a girl, She looked like to be around 5'6 in height, as she was wearing the game's Basic outfit. I put my hand out to her saying "Are you alright?" as I was concerned about her. "O-oh I'm fine" She said as she got back up onto her feet by herself. Putting my hand away, I looked at her a bit as it was the first time I was with a girl, She turned her view to me as I quickly turned my head around a little flustered. She smiled a little bit before walking past him as I was thinking "Oh no! What do I do?!?!" I thought as I remembered the basics on the back of the game case saying "Swipe two fingers down to bring up the menu and swipe up to put the menu away." as I swiped two fingers down and brought up the menu. The menu had a nice chime to it as I looked at it amazed, "Woah.. That's a cool way to open a menu" I said quietly to myself as I looked at the menu. "Every Game has a logout button....Right????" I thought to myself as I saw a Power Icon, I then tapped it as a text box popped up saying "Do you want to log out?" as there was a red button and a green button. I sighed out of relief, thinking to myself "Thank goodness there's a log out button" as I then chuckled and tapped the green button. As I waited to be logged out, Nothing happened as I looked at the button. 

"What?" I said to myself as I tapped it again, The button did nothing as I heard something happen in the skies, I looked up at the skies as I closed my menu. I then Exhaled briefly before hearing teleportations as I looked around, Seeing that there were way more players in the game than expected. "why is everyone-" As my sentence was cut off by a person yelling "Everyone! Look!!" as everyone at the town looked up at a screen that opened up above the Safe zone. "Hello Players of Calamity Dungeon, My Name is Akino Sugeno, You are in my world that I have spent making for the past 10 years" Akino said as the screen was only showing a cloaked figure. Akino then added on to his sentence "As of now, This message is being broadcasted throughout Japan, You may have noticed the game's log out button doesn't work, It's not a bug or a flaw, it was intentionally designed that way." I then looked left to right as I saw everyone's expressions as everyone was shocked, I then looked up back at the screen as Akino was going to talk again. "You may think you'll be able to respawn, I took a consideration to that as I had took out the respawn system moments before the game's servers went up, There is no Respawn system anymore, Some people found that out the hard way, as the WaveGear had taken care of the job. Anyone who tries to interfere by taking it off, including your gloves, will have the WaveGear respond by destroying a vital importance, Your brain of course." Everyone's expressions, Including mine, We're speechless as Akino then said "If you want to get out of here alive, you'll have to beat all 150 Dungeon floors of this game, Right now you are on floor one, The lowest of lows of this game. So I suggest you all should take this time to reconsider your choices before your actions come into play, Your choices can be the benefit to everyone or a burden." as Akino was going to leave, He stopped and said "Before I go, I should change everyone's looks" as Akino swiped his hand to the right as I heard sounds coming from the right seeing people changing as I was in the middle. Akino's hand reached the left as everyone's appearance had changed into their real appearances in real life. "There's no need to hide your identity if your going to be here with a bunch of people. I wish you all luck." as the screen disappears.

There was silence throughout the crowd of 20,000 people as seconds later everyone there would start breaking down in tears, start regretting to play this game, as others would just hold emotions back and head off outside of the safe zone. I was on my knees as tears dropped from my eyes, "I....I can't....I can't go home...." I said to myself quietly as I then went to rubbing the tears off of my eyes. I then heard footsteps coming my way as I hear a similar voice saying "I'd never knew you'd be such a crybaby" as I looked up from my position. It was the girl from earlier, her appearance had changed drastically, As she had blonde hair, Green eyes, and looked like she was a Highschooler, maybe a Year older or the same age as me. I grabbed her hand as She pulled me up saying "You.... Look like your around my age" As I then quickly replied back "O-oh...um...Yeah..I.." As I couldn't get any words out as I thought to myself "Just say your a highschooler!! How can it be this hard to say it to a girl!!!" as I then said "I-I go to highschool okay!" before realizing I shouted a bit. She looked at me a bit surprised before giggling a bit as my face turned red a bit. I then turned around and walked a bit, flustered a little from shouting it a bit, Thinking to myself "Great going me...First I can't go home now this...." as she then grabbed my arm saying "You look very new to these kind of things" as I replied saying "I-I didn't play games a whole lot, s-so I'm pretty new..." as she smiled saying "Cool! I'll teach you!" as she then ran the other way, dragging me along as we were heading outside. She then dragged me to the nearby fields, as she took out a sword that was hanging on her back. "Hey, you know how to equip items right" She asked as I was confused at what she mean't as she then said "Open your inventory and click the shield and blade Icon". I then swiped and opened the Shield and Sword Icon as it showed me my inventory, as I had only basic items. "now choose a weapon you want to use" As she ran ahead, Slaying wolves. I looked at the weapons as there was a Axe, 2h axe, 1h sword, Rapier, Katana, Dagger, and a Bow. "Which one.... I guess i'll go with the sword" I thought to myself as I clicked the 1h sword as a text box said "would you like to equip this item?" Looking at it, I then pressed the green button as the sword and it's belt appeared around my waist. "Huh?!" I said as I saw the sword around my left hip. She then looked over after slaying another Wolf saying "alright, you should know how to pull a sword out" as She went back to slaying down wolves. "Y-yeah" I said as I looked at the handle. "I-I guess...this is where my sword training years come in handy.." as I moved my right hand to the handle, grabbing onto the handle and pulling out the sword. "Woah..." I said as I admired how real the sword looks, shines, and feels. "Hey I can use some help here!" the girl said as She was on the floor, holding up a Wolf as the wolf kept snapping it's mouth near her face. "Okay! I'm coming!" I said as I ran towards her, Suddenly, I feel a surge of Energy come out of nowhere "what's....What's this feeling..." I thought to myself as I then swung the sword, Cutting the wolf off her as the wolf then shattered.

She then sighed in relief saying "thanks, I thought I was a goner" as she then got up by herself. "Hey you alright?" She said as I looked at her saying "Y-yeah, Just I had never had a feeling like that before" as she smiled saying "Your first time feeling this much adrenaline then?" as I looked at her nodding saying "Its.... Its just so weird to me..." as she patted my back saying "Don't worry, You'll get used to it." as I smiled a bit. She then said "Did you have Sword training where you live?" I then looked over to her saying "Yeah, I had a sparring partner before she moved away" as she smirked a bit saying "Oh? A she? was this your girlfriend..!" as My face then flustered a bit saying "N-No! We were close friends!!" as she giggled again before laughing a bit. "i'm sorry to tease you like that, it's just a bit funny" as I looked at her and sighed. I then heard a spawn as I turned around and said "We have more wolves" as I pulled out my sword. I looked at her as she said "I'll go first!" as she ran into the pack of wolves, I ran in after her as She then parried a swipe saying "Hey! Take this wolf!" as I nodded saying "Okay!" as I jumped out from behind rushing towards the stunned wolf. "Hyah!!" I shouted out as I then swung my sword and slashed the wolf. The wolf then shook off the stun and starting attacking me. I started dodging as I then blocked a Swipe as she said fighting another wolf "use your sword to parry!" as I shouted "What's a parry!!" She shouted back "A parry is when you deflect!!". Blocking attacks I then trusted what she said as the Wolf swiped again, I then deflected the swipe, pulling off a successful parry. "That's it! Now finish it off!!" as she swung at another wolf. I then slashed the wolf with a sword skill as the wolf shattered immediately after dying. She then shattered the other two wolves as she ran over to me and patted my back saying "Your a natural for a beginner!" as I chuckled a bit saying" I-i guess so." She then said "here, a healing potion" She said as she handed it to me, I grabbed it and looked at the beauty of the bottle first before drinking it. "It heals you, like it says" she said as I drank all of it and healed most of my health back. I looked at the back of my hand and saw that I was near full health. "C'mon, Let's go back to get more potions." She said as I nodded to her, We then started walking back towards the safe zone. While we were walking, She sent me a party request as I looked at the text saying "would you like to join this party?" I was confused at this as she said "It's a party invite, you can see my health and name" as I took some thought into it before tapping the green button. The text then changed to "Successfully Joined Party" as a Party Indicator popped up above Her head and my head. "Kaijin.... That's a unique name" she said as I looked at the other back of my hand and saw her name and said "Chloe is your name?" as she nodded. Chloe and I had a conversation all the way back to the safe zone.
