Chapter 6
After everyone finished eating, including a bowl taken out to the dog by Kira, the ladies ran the men out of the house. The kitchen was too crowded with all the women present. The men went out onto the porch and James grabbed a few more chairs from inside. Kim and Brenda were getting in the way in the small kitchen, so they joined Sean and the men.
“Looks like you’ve lost a little weight since I last saw you,” Robbie said.
“Maybe so,” Sean replied. “It was tough getting here, especially for Brenda and Kim. We did eat pretty good the last couple of days, but before that, it was slim pickins.”
James rolled a couple of cigars, one for himself, and handed a second to Reggie.
Reggie lit his smoke and blew a smoke ring. “So, how did you get out of Corpus Christi?”
