Some years it happens so quick,
The clouds roll in, cold and thick;
The days grow ever so brief,
The nights more suited to a thief.
Life is a test, you will soon see,
That is the way it’s supposed to be;
No one is exempt from what lies ahead,
The only way to escape is if you’re dead.
Work hard and maybe you’ll survive,
Sit on your ass and later you will cry;
Be tough and roll with the flow,
Keep your eyes open and learn as you go.
Life goes on, even in the ice and cold,
Be prepared, or like a house of cards, fold;
Make certain you have everything you’ll need,
Learn necessary skills even if you must read.
A sturdy shelter and warmth will get you by,
Out in the cold you will surely die;
When the polar cold dips down deep,
