Chapter 50: Tanner and Evidence 2:59 P.M. 287 Willow Street Jim Tanner’s blue-and-gold cruiser was parked in my drive. He leaned against the vehicle, smoking upon my arrival at Willow Street. A string of blue-gray smoke lifted above his head, vanishing into the atmosphere. I parked my Avalanche alongside his cruiser, turned the beast off, and got out.
