Councillor Robert Grainger has been officially sworn in as the District’s 137th Mayor at the Council’s Annual General Meeting this week.
Mayor Grainger triumphed in the race for the much coveted position, securing the support of 48 elected members and placing him well over the threshold required to claim victory. His only rival for the job, Estelle Keane, was backed by just 14 of her colleagues.
