Charlie's mind got stirred when he fell to that deep sleep. It's almost morning and the sun light is already burning on his face that made him squint.
"It's already morning."
He carefully opened his eyes. He was surprised to discover himself in a strange room,all that thing he remembers is that he was in the street.
"Wait, where am I?"He asked.
"Good morning,"He saw the man that was on the window, shoving all the curtains. Charlie described him as tall,peach-blond haired and has weird deep blue eyes and about in his early twenties.
"Excuse me,can I ask-"
"Well we have a lot of explaining to do too,just relax and don't doubt about what happened to you last night."He explained although the man had a Scandinavian accent on his english.
"Just wait here,"He leaves to the room for a while.
"I'll be informing the mistress that you're awake."He smiled.
While he left, Charlie began to recall what happened the night before: He remembers that he was chased by some sort of creature and was about to kill him when that giant monster serpent pounded first and gobble it whole. Charlie can't tell if he's dreaming or not. Maybe he did not sleep on the street after all, but somewhere else and was being picked up like a cat. Or...did they know what really happened to him last night.
"Is that a dream? Or something else?"
Later, when he was set by, Charlie was escorted by the same man he saw this morning, but with a butler this time.
He was led to a large corridor that was filled with portraits of people he did not recognize, and some statue heads of Plato, Aristotle and some Roman figures like Julius Ceasar and Octavian.
When the butler opened the door for them. Charlie's first glance was a woman in a floral pink dress and wavey blond hair with burning cyan torquios eyes. She was very well dressed and her red lips was wearing a light smile.
This only made Charlie a little nervous as if that knowing it's the mistress of this household was the man mentioned.
Slowly,the butler introduce her to him:
"She is Lady Ethel Martha,she's the head of the Aristhar manor."
Charlie gave her a respectful bow, Although he's in the icy flux.
"Nice to meet you, Although I apologized for your surprise here for waking here in my residence. May I know your name?"She asked in a languid tone.
"Uh...I'm Charlie Kramer."He answered.
"I see,By the way I notice that you have a Scottish accent,are you from Scotland?"
"Yes,I was born in the town of Aberdeen."
Suddenly,this made the woman shock in wonder. She had heard the surname before,and the place that it's said to be somewhere in Scotland. Until this she remembers something,a recent rumors about the Bloody Candy.
"Wait a second,you're the son of that Candyman who got murdered,what is your purpose here in London?"She asked.
Charlie was also surprised. The woman must have already suspected him,so what choice does he have.
"The reason why I travel all the way from here...it's because I was seeking revenge for that killer who murdered my father."
The room grew silent,the woman sighed as though that this boy will threw some bloodshed in lament for his father.
"So you want to kill the murderer of your father?"
"I think it's all..."
"So I was right to pick you up."She said.
"I had to explain...the very reason why you're here today is simple,the same reason I want for my husband."
"What?"
"Duke Alfred Aristhar,"The butler explained.
"Three years ago,Our mistress' husband was mysteriously murdered too,our mistress was grieving to his death since."
"Yes,"She answered.
"Since he's death,I continued to his duty."
She said taping her finger in the table.
"However Charlie..."She continues,
"Before he died,did he gave you his last message?"She asked.
"Uh...I remember his last word... Before I could go to bed,I bid him good night. However he's response was 'See you in the other side,son.'"He explained.
Lady Ethel was thinking too that phrase. See you in the other side. Must be His father already knows that his final hour is gonna take place so he told Charlie to go to bed so he won't see how he was killed. Poor man,she could say.
"I see so there must be something your father didn't tell you."
Another mystery, Charlie may have to solve this by himself. The woman looked to Charlie by the eye.
"So you want revenge? I can take part of it."She smiled.
"Wait so you gonna help me?"Charlie bulge his eyes.
"Okay,but...what about the last night?"
"I'll leave it to my butler here. You don't need to worry about that because we already know."
So Charlie was not dreaming about that,after all he was right. But still he thanked himself for being alive.
"But for one condition Charlie,"She said.
"You have to serve me too for my daily tasks,If you did that with full determination,I will help you."She promised.
New hope glistened to Charlie's eyes as he smiled and said:
"Yes mistress,I'm glad to accept it."
He agreed to the deal.
"Good, from now on, you're a part to this manor of mine."
Charlie was finally given a job in the manor as a gardener. The man who just he met will be the one to guide him there. Later when they walk to the corridor,them both went on a chat.
"What's your name, Mister."He asked.
He turned to him and smiled.
"Mikki,Mikki Ormond."He replied.
"I'm Charlie,by the way."He blushed.
"There's something I want to tell you, Charlie."Mikki suddenly frowned.
"Is that about the mistress?"He replied.
And he nods.
"Yes,for you may know...The mistress can't keep a promise some time,she was more focused in other things than to your father, please understand."
He already thought about that,he ready knows that it was Lady Ethel's pleasantly. Maybe the reason is too keep him away of commiting evil.
"I understand Mister Mikki,that's why I'm gonna do it on my own."Charlie smiled.
"Let's hurry,the other servants are waiting for us."
"Yes."
The arrived to the kitchen room where the butler gathered them for a introducing themselves to the new member of the household.
"We are here, Vincent."Mikki called.
The butler opened the door for them. Charlie saw the other servants they seem to be cordial and welcoming.
"Listen up,this boy here is our new gardener,last time,Lady Ethel fired our former gardener because of a certain issue,of course, enraged our mistress."
"Who was it?"Charlie asked, Whispering to Mikki.
"Mr. Tony,he was very boastful to keep the plants. However he failed to keep his vow to our mistress that cause her mad."
"What vow?"
"The garden, unfortunately,he let some pest to destroy it that she was mad and kick him out the manor for good."
"Oh.."
"Please introduce yourself,"
When Charlie was called,he immediately responded and bowed.
"Hello everyone,I'm Charlie Kramer, pleasure to meet you all."
After him,the servants started to introduce themselves:
"I'm Angela Baillire,I'm in charge of the kitchen. Nice to meet you."Said the maid with long raven black hair.
"I'm Betty Collingwood,I'm the maid in charge of the laundry and cleaning."
Said the other maid with blond hair.
"This is Elle,she was a child,but she is the one who guards the cellar."Angela patted the shoulders of the Yung girl with a blindfold.
"Once again,my name is Mikki Ormond,I'm the sentinel of the manor."
Mikki repeated.
"And I'm Vincent Esther,the butler of the manor, supervisor of the servants."The bullet finally bowed as he fix his glasses which is he wearing.
"Charlie,what the mistress said. We are here to explain you about what really she meant to say..."Vincent turned to him.
His eyes narrowed like he was serious.
Also this concerned Charlie.
"Are you talking to what you saw last night? well we don't simply gather here to introduce ourselves to you. But to explain our backstories."
Charlie felt a nerves jabbing his knees, now something isn't right here.
"But we want you to promise us:That you will 'not' tell anyone about us, even our true identities that we will reveal to you."
"Yes...you can trust me."Charlie replied.
"Good,now listen to us carefully..."
