Chapter 7: Roller Rink Rumble: Clique Clash Extravaganza

Noami's P.O.V. "Okay, prepare to be amazed," I announced, leading Leo, Maya, Tristan, and Isolde towards the back of the mansion. Dad had insisted we all "familiarize ourselves with the local recreational facilities," which, in Eldoria-speak, meant a trip to his private roller rink. And when I say it was cool, I mean *seriously* cool. Think neon lights, a booming sound system, and a floor so polished you could see your reflection in it. But the real spectacle was the crowd. "Whoa," Leo breathed, his eyes wide as he took in the scene. "This is… next level." Maya, ever the observant one, was already scanning the room, her gaze lingering on the various groups of skaters. "It's like a social zoo," she murmured. And she wasn't wrong. The rink was a microcosm of Aethelgard Academy, a swirling mix of cliques and personalities. There were the "Speed Demons," a group of athletic skaters doing elaborate tricks, their matching tracksuits gleaming under the neon lights. The "Artistic Gliders" were a more eclectic bunch, their outfits a riot of colors and patterns, their movements fluid and graceful. The "Tech Rollers" were huddled in a corner, their phones glowing, their skates customized with LED lights and tiny screens. And then there were the "Social Spinners," a group of impeccably dressed skaters, their every move captured by a swarm of phone cameras. "See?" I said, gesturing around the rink. "Roller rink school, in action." "This is… intense," Tristan admitted, his eyes fixed on a group of Speed Demons doing a synchronized routine. "Tell me about it," Isolde muttered, but I could see a flicker of interest in her eyes. The rink was divided into sections, each claimed by a different clique. The Speed Demons had their own dedicated stretch of polished floor, where they practiced their routines with laser focus. The Artistic Gliders had set up a makeshift art studio in a corner, their skates adorned with paint splatters and glitter. The Tech Rollers had transformed a booth into a mini-arcade, their screens displaying flashing graphics and high scores. And the Social Spinners had claimed the central area, their every move broadcasted on a giant screen. The snack bar was a hub of activity, with skaters lining up for gourmet milkshakes and artisanal popcorn. The arcade was buzzing with the sounds of retro games and excited shouts. And the music, a mix of current hits and classic roller rink anthems, pulsed through the air, creating an electric atmosphere. "So," I said, grabbing a pair of skates, "who's ready to roll?" Leo, always up for a challenge, grinned. "Let's do this." Maya, after a moment's hesitation, nodded. "Okay, but if I fall, I'm blaming you." We laced up our skates and ventured onto the rink, joining the swirling mass of skaters. It was a chaotic but exhilarating experience, a mix of near-collisions, laughter, and the occasional triumphant spin. We skated for hours, exploring the different sections of the rink, observing the various cliques, and just enjoying the thrill of gliding across the polished floor. Leo, surprisingly, turned out to be a natural skater, his long limbs giving him an advantage in speed and agility. Maya, with her artistic flair, quickly mastered the graceful movements of the Artistic Gliders. Tristan and Isolde, already skilled skaters, effortlessly blended in with the Speed Demons. As the night wore on, the rink became our sanctuary, a place where we could escape the pressures of Eldoria and just be ourselves. We laughed, we joked, we even tried a few synchronized moves, our attempts hilariously clumsy but undeniably fun. Leaving the roller rink, I felt a sense of excitement for the days to come. Aethelgard Academy was going to be an adventure, a social experiment on wheels. And with my siblings by my side, I knew we could handle anything, even a roller rink school in a gilded cage. We were ready to roll.
