"Can you please move a little?" Bella kept on pushing me further to the side of the bed.
"Why are we even sleeping? Oh come on," Lexi was trying to wake up Bella and me, "We’re going to party, right?" she was totally whining, "I haven't went to a bar for like three months. Girls, wake up!"
"Okay, okay!" I sat up. Watching Godzilla made me sleepy.
Bella went to the bathroom, probably going to change. Lexi was putting on her black dress and red heels. This girl can rock any kind of clothing. Her legs were so white; the black and red combination of her outfit compliments her skin tone.
"What do you think?" she asked me.
"Really? You would want to hear my answer? I'm still half asleep, Lex," I answered. I flop back to bed.
"We gotta go, Yssa," I can hear the exasperation in her voice, "Besides, I called James and he said he'll be coming." Even though they don't say it on my face, I know that they want me to date James. Maybe out of pity or something? I don't know.
"Yssa, come on. Get up," Bella said basically dragging me out of the bed.
. . . .
The loud music filled the enclosed area. Bella and Lexi were on the dance floor, having the best of their time. It's not that I‘m being a sucker, I wasn't just really in the mood, and the thought of James coming with us doesn't sound so good for me. I realized too, that this is supposed to be a 'girls' night out'.
I was on my third cosmopolitan. The club was packed with strangers; some of them were almost familiar. We come here thrice a month or so, just enough to unwind our spirits. Knowing some people in this kind of place is necessary, it’s some sort of protection from perverts, or so we think. I was itching with my new dress because the fabric wasn't as soft as I expected- just another reason not to enjoy the night. I lift my drink to my mouth when a drunk guy accidentally hit his arm to my shoulder. The cosmo spluttered on my dress, the next second I was on my feet.
I almost consider barking at the guy, but I realized that as if going all mad in here will take back the last thirty seconds of my night so I would have the chance to refrain my drink from spilling on me. So, instead I grabbed my purse then walk away, heading to my car. This is not my night, I thought to myself.
When I got to my car, I looked for something to clean myself with. Luckily, I found a whole pack of wipes then started wiping off the stickiness off my skin. I wipe first my thighs which still has the red marks from the fabric of my dress. Then I started working on my chest. My dress was wet, too, "Great," I muttered to myself.
A few moments later a black Audi park next to mine. What a time to be alive. The demigod climbed off from the driver's seat, leaving me frantic inside my tinted car. What are the odds for him to be here? I don’t want him to see me, what I did earlier is enough.
But I noticed that he wasn't wearing the plain shirt anymore. His body was covered by a red plaid polo with his hair unruly. The girls gape at him as he strode towards the entrance of the bar. I'm not the only one, see?
My mobile rang and James' name flashes on the screen. Not now. Everything is just plain annoying and out of hand. I made my way back inside, hoping not to encounter either James or the demigod. I walked through the sea of people, bumping and grinding each other; the usual scenario inside a club. But the universe seems to enjoy ruining my day because James was approaching me.
"Hey," his voice was filled with excitement.
"Hey," I turned away from him, but soon realizing that it was a rude gesture. "Could you help me to find Bella and Lexi. Though, I'm sure they're together," I simply said trying to look nicer than the way I greeted him.
"Yeah sure."
We roam around the bar. James held me by my forearm. "There they are," James almost drag me towards them. They will be definitely glad to see me with James. Their fantasy is somehow fulfilled. But Bella and Lexi were talking to a guy who I haven't noticed.
"Hey," Bella winked at me. Damn, girl. Don't pester me, "Look who we found," an annoying smile plastered on her face. The kind she does whenever she tease me. The demigod turned to me and James. His eyes blank from my point of view.
"Can we leave now? I'm feeling sick," I lied. But I know they wouldn't let me escape their evil plan so easily.
"But we just got here and we want you to meet our new friend," Lexi emphasized her words.
"I'm tired, and I want to have some sleep," I glared at them.
"Really?" Lexi challenged.
"Yeah, and since I drove you here, you don't have any choice. So, can we now go?" I fired back to her.
"Are you really that tired?" James asked me, I almost forgot about him and his hand grasping my arm, "I can drive you home," oh... No, no, no! Bella and Lexi should really stop this show.
"No, I can drive on my own. You should stay here with Bella and Lexi. " I didn’t care if it was obvious that my main goal was to escape the scene.
"But you said you're feeling sick," Lexi smirked. I hate it when they’re tipsy, what more when they’re drunk.
"Yeah I am, but I can still drive. James will stay here to give you a lift home," my voice was full of exasperation. I hope they notice. The demigod wasn't paying much attention to us.
"Okay, let's go. Nice meeting you, Zack," Bella finally gave up. Good. So, Zack is the name of the demigod.
"Yeah, nice meeting you, too," our eyes met, hazel brown to dark brown. For a moment I thought he was talking to me, but then we haven't officially met.
Finally we made our way out of the bar without any kerfuffle, "That's not funny," I said. Bella and Lexi were still laughing, while James was completely confused.
"That was really fun, dear," the intoxicated Bella said. Oh, the b***h.
"Ha-ha."
"Uhm, I should go," James looks so tired, maybe my unspoken rejection or my failure to acknowledge his effort made him look so weary. But nothing's new.
Bella was giving me the “you-should-be-guilty” glare, but I just shrugged. I'm tired of explaining why, so I guess that won't hurt as bad as it did before. Five years of rejecting someone is exhausting, believe me. We said our goodbyes to James then made our way to my car.
