Bab 2 Morning Tension

1485 Words
"Good morning, brother. Did you sleep well? Look, you even woke up late again today." Lindsey sat on the side of Louis's bed, then took her brother's hand to help him sit up. "Did you have another nightmare last night?" Lindsey asked. Her oval face looked adorable to Louis. The man playfully pinched his younger sister's sharp nose. "No. I dreamed of something beautiful. I met a very beautiful fairy," answered Louis then got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom. "Is she a simple, beautiful, and innocent girl? She has a mysterious face that is captivating, and can make your heart beat uncontrollably." Lindsey's words made Louis's heart beat wildly. Louis stopped in his tracks, then looked at his younger sister in surprise. The man frowned in astonishment. How could Lindsey plan her future in such detail? "Hey, why are you stopping? Take a shower, I'm just joking. How could I possibly see someone's future? It's all there is to it. Go take a shower, you smell bad, bro." Lindsey gently pushed her brother's body towards the bathroom. After Louis's body disappeared behind the bathroom door, Lindsey left her brother's room and headed downstairs to join her parents. Why did you take so long to wake your brother? Has Louis showered?" Her mother's question made Lindsey stop in her tracks. For a moment, the girl stared at the woman who was busy serving breakfast on the table with an unreadable gaze. "Come here, sit in your chair, darling." Her father's baritone voice interrupted Lindsey's thoughts. The girl turned to her father and smiled faintly. "Yes, Dad," Lindsey replied meekly. The girl walked towards the dining table and pulled out a chair. Before she actually sat down, Lindsey looked at the breakfast menu, which was always the same. All of them are her brother's favorites. Lindsey took a deep breath, she was never given a choice of breakfast according to her taste. Could she think that his mother doesn't love her? "Is your brother ready to take a shower when you come down, darling?" Again, her father repeated the same question her mother asked. "Yes," said Lindsey, glancing at her mother. "Brother was taking a shower when I came downstairs. Besides, He is already grown up. He can take care of himself without always having to be ordered to do anything like a child. Louis is not a toddler!" said the girl in a loud tone. "Are you being sarcastic about mom, Lindsey?" Anabeth's sharp gaze conveyed great anger towards her youngest daughter. "Stop it! Can't we enjoy breakfast in peace? Start your day with a good feeling. Anabeth, sit in your chair, and try to appreciate the meal you have worked so hard to prepare," Edward Snowden interrupted the fierce situation that was starting to create, between the daughter and his wife, and his decree is not absolutely irrefutable. Both of them immediately fell silent, continuing the argument would not end well for them. Remembering that the head of the family was there, watching silently. "Good morning, Mom. Dad?" Louis grabbed the back of the chair slowly. He felt a little strange about the atmosphere, which was as quiet as a funeral. "Did I miss something, Dad?" he asked, looking at his father for an explanation of the situation was happening at the dinner table. "Nothing, son," Edward said briefly. "Come on, finish your breakfast. Today you will come with daddy to the office. It's time for you to come back to the company. Daddy is old, he wants to spend more time with Mom and Lindsey," Edward said at length while he was eating. "Okay, Dad." No rebuttal. That's better, considering the unfavorable situation at the dinner table. ******************* A tall building towered right in front of him. From behind the car window, Louis could clearly see the tall building in the short distance. When the car started to enter the basement, Louis accidentally caught sight of the silhouette of a woman he had seen in his dream. However, the woman's shadow then disappeared behind the wall leading to the main lobby of the office. "What have you noticed since earlier, son?" His father's baritone voice shattered Louis's curiosity about the woman in the cleaning service uniform he had seen. "It's nothing, Dad. I was just admiring this company's building. Daddy is great because he was able to make it this big," praised Louis, smiling proudly. "This is all for you and Lindsey. Daddy is just starting it so we can progress further. Your job is to develop it into the number one company in the world. Shareholders don't invest their money to be wasted. You have to be good at seeing prospects. That's your job, to make investors money many times over, many times more than the original amount." The father said at length. "Come on out," said Edward. "Huh? sorry, Dad." Louis flinched a little because his mind had been busy thinking about the figure of the woman he had just seen. Louis followed his father to the elevator specifically for them. ********************** "Come in! This is Daddy's room for the time being. After this, you will occupy it again like before your accident. So get used to it from now on, learn the basics of being a great leader. Remember, being respected and being feared are two different things. But sometimes you can be both at times if necessary." Once again, Louis had to fill the memory in his head with all the advice from his father. "Okay, Dad. I will study hard with Uncle Joseph." Louis said bluntly. Louis glanced at the man in the black suit standing next to his father, the man who had been following them since he and his father got out of the elevator. Louis's glance received an unusual stare from the man. "I will guide you young master according to the orders you have given, sir." Said the man slightly bowed his head to Edward. Louis just watched the interaction between the two carefully, maybe this is something that should be studied too. That's how his mind processed to digest the current situation. Louis's brain is forced to record everything he sees and hears. Like a child who had just started kindergarten, Louis felt that his sister was right. He is like a toddler in his family. Louis's reverie was interrupted by his father's voice "Louis, you will represent Daddy in today's client meeting. Follow Uncle Joseph's directions, be careful with every article you read. Look at his profile clearly, and most importantly, you must pay attention systematically to his proposal. Be careful. Don't miss anything that is related to the purpose of the proposal. Your slightest mistake will not only cause losses for the company, but also for all our employees. Be thorough with prospects and suspects, so that there is no potential for certain impacts," said Edgar seriously. His father's every word seemed to be automatically recorded by Louis's head. And that made him a little depressed. But even arguing was useless, or more precisely, he didn't have enough courage to reject all of his father's wishes. "I'll do it well, Daddy can trust me with this meeting. Isn't Uncle Joseph there to help me? Isn't that right, uncle?" Louis deliberately pressed the word 'help' while staring flatly at his father's assistant, who would soon become his personal assistant. "You are right, young master," replied the man no less flatly. However, he still bowed respectfully to his potential new boss. "Okay, Joseph. Please help my son in his first assignment, you will often work with him after this, before I officially relinquish my position completely to Louis." Edward said giving Joseph a little ultimatum. Even though the father said this was not his first meeting, this was the first time since he lost all his memories. Maybe his father was worried that Louis's memory would affect his brain performance. That's what Louis interpreted. According to Edward's orders, Joseph immediately rushed out of the room, followed by Louis behind him. After arriving outside the room, Joseph let Louis walk towards the elevator first. Both of them were silent, neither of them intending to speak up first. Joseph's flat and stiff gaze didn't scare Louis. However, now the situation is different. He is in a critical phase of self-confidence due to his memory being erased by an accident. He understands nothing about the structure of a company, and now he is forced by circumstances to become Louis, the potential heir to the Snowden Company. The largest company in the country, and number one in the world. Louis felt like he was being forced to walk, as his leg was badly injured and almost broken. However, both hands were forced to be able to flap and support the heavy load. To be continue Much love to all my dear readers. Greetings author, Rose_Ana.
